God we havent really played any top teams yet (man city aside) The next 5 games are going to be carnage we will definitely have conceded double figures after that run and I would be surprised if we managed a draw in any of those games

They are gambling on option 2 getting the fans back onside through a change of style but it's hugely naive as Martin simply isn't going to ditch his philosophy and he's been very clear on that. It's very likely that we won't have any more points on the board by Xmas, I think the owners are taking the piss and know that saints fans are meek and submissive and won't do anywhere near the protests that other clubs would so they are happy to just roll with it! You would think his position would be untenable back in the championship but stranger things have happened!

He's said numerous times he doesn't worry about his job, that's either 1) Russ being the in denial and arrogant Russ we all know plus he knows there's a substantial compensation clause 2) Sports republic really are going all the way with the Martin philosophy and are going to stick with him to the bitter end to try and save face with yet another manager appointed by them that's turned out to not be a good fit

Serious question do the players really like playing Russball? Surely they'd love to play in a more attack minded team that sees the final third more than once a game? I struggle to see how an entire team of so called professional footballers is fully behind such a dire and suicidal style of play? Or are they all just happy just to be mates with Russ and swap tips on beard manicures? I know they say one thing to the media but surely there's got to be some kind of unrest now in the dressing room?

Agreed the man has to go he hasn't been given great tools to work with striker wise for sure but at the end of the day he should be getting a better tune out of them and he dam well could if he wasn't so stubborn and we should have more than four points that's abysmal. Conspiracy theory but it's like Sports republic aren't interested in the football in the first place it's like we are some kind of gifted hobby to see if rasmus can achieve stuff in a modern untraditional way that goes against everything we thought we knew! and he has been given free reign to do so hence if we are believe what Martin says he has no worries about his position as he has no minimum targets in this league, basically they aren't in this club for the right reasons. There's rumors that dragan isn't happy with the performances but that never seems to translate into Martin/rasmus/both being fired there has to be a reason for that beyond "we want stability for the club" and Martin's contract payoff

Not everything is Martin's fault we've had shit decisions and unforced areas but he certainly doesn't help with his insistence on the dullest brand of football imaginable and his complete refusal to acknowledge that that his style is ineffective in the premier league with our level of players, you would think our points total would give him some kind of hint to mix it up or try something different! Again no confidence that he won't be our manager for the rest of this painful season! We are going to be relegated but we need a moyes in to give us some fight and dignity and to build some enthusiasm for the championship.....I don't think we will have eleven points all season!
