  1. For another team next season 😭
  2. All managers have their favourites unfortunately our managers favourites are the worst players!
  3. All we are missing is a decent striker (and top class defender)
  4. Much more positive from saints but how many times have we seen this only to concede against the run of play, need to make the dominance count for once!
  5. Does anyone know the logic of why AA looks so bad at premier league level but decent at championship? Is it Just a case that the players in the championship are a lot slower in general and slower to react and he has more time on the ball? He seems confident at that level but like a rabbit in the headlights against better opposition
  6. True, if we can't get a result against Ipswich then things will be looking worrying. I feel we could get a result against United but only if we ditch tippy tappy and get more aggressive and direct and Go for them from the first kick, all things Martin is adverse to
  7. Where's the win?
  8. The next three games will decide RMs future in my opinion. All three games are tough and I can easily see us finishing the month with no points on the board. How many points would you predict? I can't see us beating any of these sides at the moment so a couple of draws would be progress Man united at home Ipswich at home Bournemouth away
  9. To sum things up the premier league is difficult enough as it is at the best of times. Why on earth would you adopt a style that makes it even more difficult??? When all is said and done it's about putting the ball in the back of the net I'd much rather see more of that than constantly recycling the ball in extremely dangerous places! And what for? Just to show that we can? (Or can't in our case?) We have a manager that values meaningless statistics over actually winning games as long as we were "brave" that's all that matters to him. He calls it brave most people call it being the architect of your own downfall
  10. We simply have to take action if there's no points on the board at the end of this month ordinarily no one would be calling for a managers head this soon... But our situation is different as Martin has publicly said he is not going to change anything and would rather loose games with his style than change. Not sure the club will though as he's signed a new contract and he's been very transparent with the style he plays from the very beginning the club knew exactly what they were getting with him, someone that had a chance of getting promotion from the championship but wouldn't be good enough for the premier league.
  11. You are right but we failed to act soon enough last time we appointed a disaster, if he can't get any points on the board by the end of September the club must find the strength to get rid... I'm not sure they will as it looks like they aren't too bothered about premier league footbal
  12. Probably a joke of a site but this hints that the club are ready to pull the trigger should things not improve by end of September https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-russell-martin-fighting-for-his-job-at-southampton/
  13. This 100% unfortunately, I just can't see him having the strength or nous to change things long-term he's far to stubborn and in his head he thinks it's going to click against premier league opposition when in reality we are the easiest team to play against in the league! he might temporarily change (just enough to give false hope and keep his job) like the few games leading up to the playoffs but not long term and we need him to change long term!
  14. It feels like the owners knew we got lucky and went up too soon and are just preparing for the worst a 2025 season in the championship. But will they stick with Martin there? as we would be forever up and down like a yo-yo
  15. Herein lies the problem he won't and he's made that clear
  16. Martin has had nearly 100m in transfers and hasn't got in a proven striker just crazy! He's made it clear he lives by the sword and dies by the sword and hasn't changed anything for 5 years! So there's no way we are going to see any different tactics any time soon! We are stuck with a manger who's taking us straight back to the championship.... Do we stick with him in the championship?
  17. Being told what to say in Media representation is one thing. You have no idea how they are feeling behind closed doors
  18. It's not going to happen as we are tied into Martin so much but a new manager could improve our team so much! We have five or six really decent players now, sugawara Fernandez, downes, dibling, ramsdale & KWP If only we had a manager capable of playing the right system ie getting the ball forward quicker instead of fucking around with it and recycling the ball dangerously in our own goal area! A manager capable of picking the best players for the job and not clouded judgement of picking favourites not up to the job just because he's friends with them! The players must be hugely frustrated with what they are being told to do by now! There is no answer as Martin himself has said he won't change his strategy and the club fully stand by him, maybe we are indeed building for another season in the championship all along!
  19. Derbys record low of 11 points is in serious danger
  20. It will be in his eyes that's the scary thing!
  21. Nice too little too late though
  22. Its the insistence on the crazily dangerous style that's doing the damage!
  23. I would be surprised if we had any more than 6 points on the board if that
  24. They always used to
  25. Looking forward to hearing Martin say we conceded two of the three goals from my insistence on playing such a fucking stupid system I won't be employing that style anymore! 😂
