I wouldn't of expected better from you ESB.

I appreciate that rpb, I'd of expected better from Weston.

I said total tripe, take your over the top bully boy tactics and inflict them on someone else. It's a statement I neither believe or endorse but I wont apologise for it. I'm as PC as they come. It was irony, I thought it wouldn't be wasted on most on here?

Ok fair enough, Not my place to question anyone on here regarding their personal feelings. When we next lose to Saints I promise you it will hurt like hell (Like it did when our inferior team lost 3-0 to you in '96) but rest assured I'll tell you all it does not bother me one bit as your lot are funded by Nazi gold or some such tripe.....
-
Nick, I can't pretend to know anything about you, but from what i've picked up in your posts, you bleed red and white, that 4-1 hurt, you can't kid me. It was our own version of Rope-a-dope, masterminded by a technically superior manager. The only credit to Southampton was their fight and effort, you didn't deserve a 4-1 drubbing, but you got one anyway. You huffed and puffed against a makeshift Pompey defence, only to be cruelly torn apart by our pace and clinical finishing. I think it's a reality check for even the most baised eyes, 5-0 and 5-1 home drubbings against your peers simply does not compare. But trying to be even handed, I will miss that quality of player enjoyed the past 7 seasons, but like i'm sure many Saints fans would remind me, there are definate benefits to life in the football league.

TBF I spent the last 18 months with my head in the sand whilst the press reported on all the 'goings on' at FP which proved to be 99% correct. Now they print positive news, forgive me if I decide to now carry on my new found belief in what the press report on Pompey.

Nick, If by 'Get out of it' you mean stay up, rest assured, we won't. If by 'Get out of it' you mean we'll avoid being liquidated after being systematicaly torn apart for the financial gain of international criminals, then yes, thank goodness for that.

eh??? I like Harold Lloyd, I grew up on him?

Were Saved! TFFT! http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/755017/SECRET-MILLIONAIRE-TO-RESCUE-PORTSMOUTH.html

yeah, whatever, genuinely won't bother me.
-
Maybe, but anything that keeps the 'identity' intact (and by Identity, I mean how I invisage the club I love, which clearly wont be the same as you.) is fine by me. Under the circumstances a three year tumble to old Fourth Division is fine by me, s'long as Pompey never die!
-
Apparently fans meeting with 'new owners' tomorrow. It's all over Pompeyonline. The meeting is obviously true but anything else seems a little 'premature'..... Oh well, better than nothing.
-
You did it Channon, within minutes of your post and !!!POOOOOF!!!! He's gone!
-
Yeah? Careful what you wish for. It'll be a groundshare near Fareham, You'll be sharing with Portsmouth.
-
Thanks Chin, 'It's not easy being blue.'
-
Thanks Solent, believe it or not, I still spend more times on Pompey boards than Saints ones.
-
No not at all Scotty, I post here 'cos I enjoy it. My point to Nick, was that enjoying a victory for Pompey is not provocatively gloating. On the whole I enjoy the banter, I stick around for the **** and it is mostly **** and don't feel that my defending Pompey should be construed as gloating.

I cannot understand how I could be ashamed of my club? I'm a fan, I love Portsmouth, Maybe like a parent who finds excuses for the son who everyone else knows is a bad egg, all the same I love my club and could never be ashamed of Portsmouth Football Club, but instead angry at the people who have used it to their own ends. I'd feel more ashamed of anyone who'd wash their hands of something they love so readily. Likewise, that would tell me something of the 'class' of that kind of fan.
-
Nick, Please don't join the ranks of those who can't 'handle' one day of good news for Pompey, without breaking into hissy fits and tantrums of bile. For those who see it as 'war', it's a very small victory for Pompey in a war that cannot be won. As a fan I won't apologise for enjoying a day of relief from what has and will continue to be a constant barage of bad news, as someone who posts in an environment of gloating and schadenfreude, I really don't see any comparisons. Whilst 100% SFC, you've always been as evenly handed as can be expected, please stay that way as it's credit to you and makes your posts and points worth reading.

Yeah me too, I go to The University of Sussex quite a lot and it's great to see the progress they are making, on what will be a very interesting stadium, I'd love that for Pompey.

I agree about FA Cup Semi Final games being held at Wembley devaluing things, likewise having every tin pot play-off final and poxy lower league minows cup competition held there also takes the sheen off things.
-
Nope, wont be allowed.
-
Like everyone said on here regarding the recent Derby Nick, you had nothing to lose. Well, in similar circumstances, neither do we. I remember the Cardiff fans weren't that bothered losing two years ago and neither will I be. On those wide open Wembley surfaces, I fully expect Spurs (who should despatch Fulham) to take full advantage of our Defence, which does it's best but is very definately Championship.
