In fairness Ches, you put a little more thought into it than most. I only popped back because I really wanted to highlight how 'Saints' fans reactions to spunking money are no different to your average 'Pompey' fans reaction at the time in 2007 when we went crazy, before the true illegalities of the Al Mirage era, which gets us treated with such moral indignation. The indignation Is so flipping false, it's just hatred dressed up as moral indignation, the hatred is fine, it's part of what cements our respective alegences, it's the dressing it up as something that it's not that so gut churning. I genuinely really, really hate scummers, except the ones who are my mates or family and most of the ones I've met personally and the ones who work with my wife, oh! and that cyclist who got the gold medal for Team GB. But I won't be writing to HMRC or the media or the FL regarding any of your future misdemeanors and I can honestly say no Pompey fans I know have or would fire off 'Disgusted of Drayton' emails. It's not the Pompey way, just sneaky, snide, tell tale scummers do that, many frequenting this thread, some spunking off over your recent record signings.......
-
You have spectacularly missed pretty much the entire 'moral' arguement of this thread. I remember being told all about 'Karma' re gloating at predicaments etc etc. Wow, we really could be going full circle (again). Better get protesting fellas, you are spending WAY too much, especially on wages, though the fee dwarfs anything Pompey have paid. Enjoy, as the truth is, just like us, unless you start protesting now, its completely out of your hands what the club do with the finances you truelly arent 100% party too.

Never said I wasn't Pompey??? Going on message boards and pretending to be fans of your rivals is a Scummer trait, not Pompey. Just laughing my nuts off. All this 'coming for you ****'. All that bile and vitriol doesn't taste too good now does it? BOTTLERS!
-
What a load of bottlers! Lilly livered surrender monkeys. Today is the day it all went tits up.
-
LOL, Turned our nice again! Glad all the uncertainty has passed. Nice to hear you've found your voices and are 'Coming for us'. See you at Fratton then fellas, we will be waiting. Providing you dont drown in your own bile. That is all.

Not bothered by any of it. Chainrai will put Pompey in admin again sometime in the future, but whatever, there will still be a Pompey in some shape or form. Nothing to do with the fans of Pompey. Nobody gives a feck about cheating or whatever, history will just show another trophy win to add to our tally. I laugh at scummer statements of "They just don't get it do they?"...... Maybe we don't get it? or maybe we just don't give a f*ck! The only ones who gives a f*ck is you guys, to everyone else it's tomorrows Fish 'n Chip paper. The other more 'noble' clubs on the south coast will never overtake our trophy haul (even if we disappear into oblivion, you'll still never match our Major trophy wins), so again, who gives a f*ck? Not Portsmouth 'By any means necessary' Football Club.
-
I wouldn't argue with that. We had our day in the sun, added an additional trophy to our major trophy haul, saw some fantastic players in Pompey's wonderful colours, travelled to Europe, drew 2-2 with AC Milan, Ronaldiniho, Kaka et al, went to Wembley 5 times and have that to cherish for the hard times we are currently experiencing and to carry us through the even harder times to come. We've seen it all before.

The Tories just look out for themsleves and their old school mates. If you support them and you're one of them then fine, you're a selfish sod, but you are looking after your own interests which is understandable, if your not and still vote for them your either an imbecile or a boot licker.
-
Not bothered, your our rivals not them.

As this thread is Stagnating (much like my beloved Pompey), here's a shot in the arm for those who hate Pompey more than they love Saints. http://www.fansonline.net/pompey-fans/article.php?id=270 Hall Right Now: The Gregory Days are Back To fully understand the current situation it is first necessary to disregard what is being said, because it rarely stands up to scrutiny, and to simply look at the facts as we know them. The current owners of Pompey were prepared to buy 50% of the club in July 2009 and became the financiers of the whole operation in October, controlling the clubs bank account, major asset and Executive Officer. That Executive Officer had power of attorney over all of Ali Al Faraj's shares. Their stated reason for doing so was to make a very quick profit. The entirely haphazard and unrealistic pursuit of this profit left Pompey with an additional £16m worth of debt to Portpin. The oft-stated "they saved this club" is an entirely bogus proposition. The club was not saved in October, far from it. The club was in it's last desperate death throws and the people who walked through the door, by their own admission, were all trying to make a fast buck out of the situation - and that is without the alternate theory that it gave messrs Maneh, Yossifoff, Chainrai, Kushnir and Azougy control of an entity that had £40m worth of leverage over the Gaydamaks. Had we gone into administration rather than the hands of Arcadi Gaydamak's creditors the proposition for a new owner would have been to take the club for £1 on condition they could underwrite the rest of the season and a £10m CVA. The caveat raised, rather too enthusiastically by some, is that the club would have been liquidated because the Premier League might not have underwritten our existence. No-one can know, but we do know what happened when we needed the Premier League to make a decision - they advanced the money. We had far more money owing to us at that stage and would almost certainly have had potential new owners queuing around the block - a Premier league club for £1 with £10m debts? Even if you are going down it's a steal. The proposition now is a Championship club for £16m plus £3m CVA payment in March plus underwriting the rest of the CVA, £12m, and meeting £5m of holes in the cash flow. Not much change from £40m worth of commitment - and that is before prising the Gaydamaks from their land. The saddest thing about this new regime is the renewed reliance on spin and the suspicion that the clubs executive have been co-opted into it. The release of a statement claiming the club was on the brink was wholly unnecessary and seriously damaged the clubs credibility. We had hoped that we were now moving forward together and that whatever the ownership we would be able to do business with the executive. The willingness of the clubs employees to co-operate left me feeling that we were again expected to be the pawns in the ongoing war between the Gaydamak family and their creditors as they fight back and forth over our football club. None of what that statement said seems to stack up to me, and it was my hope that one of the executives would have stood up to the desire to embroil the fans in another propaganda operation. I guess they have jobs to protect which is understandable and going forward this is just the way it is - the clubs website is back to being what it has been for many years, Pompey Pravda. Since then we have seen all the "Cotterill my hero" and "If I come in I'll come in with money" rhetoric dissolve, predictably, into the reality that we will be simply going through the motions as a club until Chainrai and Portpin can finally engineer an exit that gets them as much of the money they so rashly wagered. Is there anything wrong with that legally? No. After all, payday loan companies and lenders of last resort are operating legally all over this country and internationally. However, there is a big distinction between what is legal and what we want for our football club. If you ring Quickquid for a loan till next week they don't claim to be saving you. When they repossess your house they don't expect you to believe they have fallen in love with you. The club is condemned to a limbo state for the foreseeable future. Unless Cotterill can pull off an even greater miracle and somehow smuggle us into the play-offs we will be consigned to the probability of continuing to go backwards for a number of years. I don't want an owner who will invest lots of money into the club, because you just end up owing it to them. I want an owner who intends to build a better business, by building a stadium, reuniting and expanding the fanbase and rebuilding the clubs community operation. That would enable us to move forward us a business on our own merits. Sadly, I see little likelihood of this over the next few years. Until the advent of Milan Mandaric it was always like this, owners whose dearest wish was to get out with their money intact. We are back to the dog days of the Gregory era. All that is left is to watch the matches and treat everything the club says and does with the highest degree of scepticism, while crossing our fingers and hoping for a businessman cagey enough to lever all of these guys out of our lives once and for all. Once that is achieved, the process of rebuilding our beloved club can begin.

Over 10 hours since the last post on my favourite subject? I f*****g hate the Royal family, p*ss off will you and stop detracting from the Pompey Takeover Forum.
-
Euugghh... you've made me sick in my mouth Gemmel you boot licker.
-
Thanks for bringing some honesty Kingsland, but in responce to others on here, clearly they too have a point, which is succinct and on message, How dare Pompey look to bring in good young local players! Maybe we should stick to buying in the football elites cast-offs on 60K a week? Good grief some consistency wouldn't go amiss.
-
............hmmmp.......................he's still got a big nose.
-
I was unaware of the police dog sh*tting on the pitch Gemmel, maybe I was a bit quick to dismiss your 27 year stint in the top flight as being uneventful, I would of enjoyed it. A rat was running along the goal line in front of the Fratton end a number of year ago, the game was televised so the rat got it's 15 minutes of fame. The rat caused much hilarity amongst fans until some c*nt ran out the fratton end and stamped on it. No sense of humour some people...

'Kin right we deserve the money Weston, we made the Premier League interesting in the 7 years we were there! Drama, Corruption, Demolitions of our rivals, League Toppers (twice!), FA Cup Final appearances, the most passionate fans (It's true, I've read it loads of times), 'Arrygate, Fake Shieks, I could go on and on. What did Scummers ever give us to entertain? The Man Utd grey shirt saga, the dancing fat c*nt and a few belly laughs via Ali flippin' Dia. I bet the Premier League are rubbing their hands at the prospect of getting super Pompey back (Maybe thats why they're givin us a helping hand?), but as for scummers? Maybe their not so keen? they've got the only good thing you ever produced on Soccer Saturday already so why'd they want you boring bunch of carrot crunching no marks up there? Pompey are value for money and worth the Parachute payments, maybe we'll have another nibble? x
-
a) Agree but it is what it is and we can only work with what is in front of us. Don't forget the FL clubs voted to accept the deal. b) I cant agree with this, obviously you'd choose very different parameters than I would. Personally I see too very similar sized clubs with the ability to draw on similar levels of support under the right circumstances. Until we enjoy the same facilities and sensible pricing structure (We have finally begun to market and price games competitively) it's impossible to make fair comparisons. As you can see, and we can only go on facts, Portsmouth and Southampton are neck and neck in historic average attendances and neither are Premiership teams but top Championship sides, a place I'd personally be happy to compete with you at.
-
Rally, most Pompey fans I talk to DON'T want promotion. And EVERY Pompey fan I have spoken too is much prefering life in the Championship than the Premier League limelight. Personally I DO want promotion, I don't miss the Prem whatsoever, but am accutely aware that financially we need the money, also I believe it gives us the best chance of getting rid of Chainrai etc. My absolute ambition for PFC, and I mean this honestly is a renovated Fratton, a decent youth set-up and facilities and a top level Championship existance with the odd foray into the top flight couple this with decent ticket prices and I'd be well happy. Realistically this is achievable (though admitedly, lots of work would need to be done)and would also provide the most entertainment, if our greatest rivals we're there or therabouts it would only add to the entertainment.
-
Do you think you'll go up this year? I'm pretty certain we won't be going down, so I'm kinda hoping your 'Gonna walk this league' ™. All teasing aside, and despite what so many on here crazily seemed only to happy to throw away forever, nothing and I mean nothing beats the excitement of our South Coast Derbies!
-
I think you give me too much credit Nick regarding any factual knowledge of Pinnacle bids etc. Hate is a very strong word, I don't hate anyone, certainly not rival fans I enjoy spats with on message boards. My attitude toward Saints has hardened in recent months, due to the fact fans who I generally respect on here wishing a level of harm to my club I never displayed in your darkest hour, in fact it put me off posting on here for a number of months. In retrospect this was pretty nieve of me and should of been expected. I don't like Saints, I will continue to ham fistedly defend my club (like an errant son), because I love it. I will also not miss opportunities to have a dig at Saints, I fail to see why you'd expect me not to?

To my mind what I find most sickening about the whining wind baggery on here is that supporters of your bland and insipid club are not really in a position to pass MORAL judgement. I would agree the level of mismanagement is different, but our circumstances are different to yours as ours was perpetrated by alleged criminal financial gangsters whose main concern was alleged by some to be money laundering and finally manipulation of the administration system to their own end. Whilst it could be argued a competitive advantage was gained, this was a byproduct of the laundering not the actual aim. Your mismanagement can be linked back to actual Saints supporters who took the decision to gamble on promotion knowing if it failed you'd be up sh+t creek, this gained you a competitive advantage over your rivals, so whilst I never bleated on and on about cheating at the time, in hindsight that's effectively what it was. The point that i've waffled on about and still failed to make, is leave the moral indignation to supporters of clubs who have not cheated to gain a competitive advantage. Your club has so none of you are fit to through your red and white stones. Leave it to the supporters of clubs with clean slates to take the moral high ground, yours is sullied, to a lesser extent, but sullied all the same.

My feet are completely crushed. I type this from the Ibis in Prague. At the beginning of my holiday. I'm in so much pain, I feel like crying. The euphoria is gone and all i'm left with is constant bloody pain. A warning to all other fatties with low pain thresholdsc do the GSR at your peril.
-
+1 Saw a few red rags running the GSR yesterday, good matured banter as they ran through the Hard and Portsea, cries of Scummer were ringing out everywhere. Real heart warming stuff
