  1. It's a good job no one takes any notice of the utter helmets on here isn't it pal.
  2. You're obsessed pal.
  3. Isn't it time to move on? I love the stories I love watching the goal and Whilst it's the greatest thing to happen to our club it's also quite tin pot to celebrate what is effectly a reminder to everyone how unsuccessful we've been for a club of our size. 40 years isn't even a particularly big landmark, 25 years I get, 50 too but 40? Just strikes me as very small time and the constant it's x number of years since we one the fa cup quite tedious. Time to move on and change the mindset.
  4. Behave Adrian, Koemans autobiography will be called "Ronald a plumbers tale" the amount of players he's tapped up. You think Forster and David Watson never spoke before he joined us? It goes on all the time yet when it happens against us its disgusting behaviour from arrogant p*icks. When it works in our favour them its great news that we've got people well respected in the game that can promote the club to prospective signings.
  5. I don't recall us wishing we were palace so your point here is Irelevant. If you'd spent th first half the season wishing we were them after they showed ambition that we lack when they signed Connor Wickham you might have a case Brett. Bet yes, 13th and a cup final, brilliant. Everton, 11th and losing semi finalists not so much, especially given they they're a team you wish we were. Come on Brett show some ambition, is that the best you dream of for us!
  6. Remember when we wished we were Everton/Stoke/Watford? They had Ambition by the bucket load, something we never had. They didn't sell their best players every summer. They kept on progressing. Oh how I wish we were like them. Why oh why can't we be like them?
  7. Can you imagine the meltdown if we sell Mane and replace Him with a £500k signing from the French second division? The "you can't expect to sell your best players and replace them with cheap imports" brigade will be in their absolute element. We'd be wishing we were a whole host of other clubs who do show ambition, like Watford. It'd be absolutely hilarious.
  8. How much are we selling him for?
  9. Do we still wish we were Everton/Stoke/Watford?
  10. Shane long, when he plays well we win. Up until about 3 months ago he was our Ian Rush, in that whenever he scored we never lost. Unfortunately that record has gone now but he remains a talismanic figure. A real beacon of #theSouthamptonway #moneyball #superles
  11. No it isn't it's a completely different situation. Koeman doesn't have a huge transfer fee at risk if he goes into the last year of his contract. Koeman has said on many occasions he'll see out his contract. Koeman has said he'll discuss his contract in the summer. Koeman hasn't been "unsettled" by Spurs. Koeman didn't refuse to manage the team for important games because his head wasn't right. Koeman doesn't keep taking out oppositions managers and getting himself banned for nearly a third of the season. Koeman doesn't toss it off against lesser teams and pull his finger out to manage a lot better in big games to audition for move there. Now go along and finish cooking the captains sausages.
  12. We had one this season, we lost 6-1.
  13. Sadly not, I had a Surprise prearranged holiday which I couldn't get out of I heard about the game though.TSW won 3-2. Saints fun reduced to 10 men due to injuries and a lot of *****ing , whinging and helmetry from the TSW team. I think I'd have made a difference, it was in the days when I could run, was more mobile than an oil tanker like I was last time I played. (Man U away, the less said about that the better).
  14. You don't like discussing heresay, you don't like discussing rumours, you don't like anyone that has an opinion. Are you sure soccerball mongboards are the place for you sir?
  15. How about making it an inter forum match TSW v TUI or something, perhaps for charity. Or are TSW still worried about upsetting the club?
  16. If we're looking for a striker I'd like to see us go for Borja Baston.
  17. is it as bad as last summer when we were in an intolerable position? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?54565-Between-a-rock-and-a-hard-place Or last May when our on the beach mentality was a disgrace? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?54157-Our-On-the-Beach-mentality-is-a-f**king-disgrace But its all understandable as we've stood still for too long http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?55618-Stood-still-for-too-long Maybe we need to look for another goalkeeper and CB http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51332-Uh-oh-Need-to-look-for-another-GK-and-CB Is it a worse summer than when we were adrift in he brown stuff with no paddle? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50319-Adrift-on-brown-stuff-creek-without-a-paddle Are you as worried now as you were here? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?49711-Genuinely-worried-about-next-season But then we don't belong in the premier league anyway http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?41043-We-dont-belong-in-the-PL Because we are run like a crappy Seaside B&B http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45266-SFC-still-run-like-a-crappy-seaside-B-amp-B
  18. £8m a season is a great bit of business and once again highlights how incompetent Cortese was when it came to commercial income. The most we ever made under him was £6m a season with him practically giving away the shirt sponsorship deals due to his inability to make money, he couldn't sell a pint to a p*sshead. It's great to see we have people at the club who can actually make a bit of money not just spend it.
  19. In hindsight our support on the championship was pretty cretinous as well, despite rose tinted glasses making many believe it was very good. There was a phase in the championship Where a group of divs going dressed in red Lyrca gimp suits. I definitely remember seeing them at Peterborough and Blackpool away. At middlesborough away they had gone for a cheeky yellow and blue number but of course that day they were overshadowed by the clowns in clown suits. One of these "characters" was shown on the verge of tears on the TV in the closing minutes when we were 1-2 down. That image was the source of untold grief from opposition fans to me about how embarrassing our fans were for months. I also remember seeing road cone hats on several occasions and a bloke in his 60s dressed as an elf.
  20. The biggest surprise is that people are still talking about it. The atmosphere has been slowly getting worse for the last 10 years. Its because football grounds had their heyday in the 70s and 80s and now its a different sort of crowd that goes to football. It's now full of utter cretins and soccer AM style banter boys trying hard to be hilarious. The "Mars bar on his head" catastrophe has been coming for a while and was the final nail in the coffin for our fan base I'm afraid. The warning signs have been there, from "look like a wotsit" through to "small town in villa" in our league one and championship days should have served as a warning that things were only going to get worse once premier league fans reared their ugly heads back inside SMS and so it has proven to be. I'm just glad our signing sections our split into two as you can only imagine the helmetry of they were all in one place as they all try to outdo each other with their wackiness.
  21. Can I be the first to say if we were to sign Chamberlain it would be a real statement of intent.
  22. Koeman things Long wad a great bit of business. http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14411443.Long_fee_looking_great_business_for_Southampton/
  23. The wrong player at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. Only one person has his finger prints all over this signing and it was another case of Corteses ego running away with him I'm afraid. He wanted to prove that he could mix with the big boys and make a big signing. Ramirez was that man and unfortunately for him was seduced by the money, remember his quote when he joined "they pay me so much money" as well as a promise that we'd build a team round him. He needed to play in a team which dominated possession, had quick mobile strikers to be effective and when he joined us that wasn't what we were or had. Once Adkins had one and Pochetino came in there was only one way his career was heading at St Mary's, he was never going to suit Pochetino and although he showed glimpses of promise he was never going to be able to adapt to the high energy game MP wanted. A shame really as by all accounts he's a nice fella and a very talented lad just signed by a chairman trying to put himself on the map with little regard for how he might actually fit into the side he was meant to play in.
  24. But don't you remember that villa game?
