  1. You've raised an interesting point here. As our song came from the church, indeed our origins are from religious backgrounds then we have a number of issues. Is OWTSGMI offensive to non Christians? It certainly could be and perhaps explains the lack of Muslims that follow the club. If you are an atheist is it hypocritical to support a team with such deep ties with religion who even takes their nickname and songs from the church?
  2. Devil in your shoes - Man United Baggie trousers - west brom Under the blade - Sheffield united Guess that's why they call it the blues - various clubs Chelsea dagger - Dagenham and Redbridge Diamonds and pearls - rushden and diamonds The eagle has landed - palace If I had hammer - West Ham The lion sleeps tonight - millwall I'm sure there are plenty more
  3. I think "we sing songs that are sh*tter variants of songs sung by other clubs or anything to the tune of sloop john b" x 3 would be more appropriate. As for I'm forever blowing bubbles in the OP as has been said saints used to sing a version of that.
  4. Well good on you pal as its clearly worked for you. Have you lost all that weight and able to run that just from starting in June? That's a great effort. I think I just got bored with hearing all these idiots boasting about how many steps they've done and the endless conversations about how many steps "blobby" had done and so on. How people who had never done a days exercise in their life suddenly thought they were experts on the subject. I suppose if it gets people off their arses its not a band thing.
  5. Isn't it great to have all this depth and options? So much so that the First choice striker for Italy is fourth choice at saints. With that in mind would you go as far as to say with that sort of depth the squad is better than last year Brett?
  6. You can't expect to sell your best players every summer and. Oh wait...
  7. How's that relegation prediction coming on pal?
  8. Wasn't crook one of Corteses boys?
  9.:lol: The south coast football expert. Tweeted less than 14 hours before the signing was announced.:lol:
  10. Oh come on Connor you can't tell us you learnt nothing from Mr Crook!! From the outside looking in you appear to be the sorcerers apprentice, his mentee, if you are luke he is yoda. Surely it can't just be coincidence that one of your finest attributes as a budding journalist is a knack of seeing news stories elsewhere then passing it off as your own, something Mr crook also excels in. As has already been mentioned on here talksports south coast football expert excelled himself at the weekend by tweeting saints not in for Charlie Austin less than 24 hours before he signed. I'm stunned you didn't break this exclusive on here!! What happened with your shoot Column by the way?!!
  11. Ahh so that's what Sibley does now. I'd been wondering about what his new role was post Cortese as presumably there was no one needed to run the new CEOs baths and collect their lunch and dry cleaning. The boy has done well for himself.
  12. So to summarise Dave is saying a club will buy players to suit the suit the tactics they want to play.
  13. You're optimistic. That equal to 28 league goals in a season, not many do that. If he gets between 7 or 8 it'd be a decent return.
  14. Oh hungerford is wonderful Its full of rivers, fields and mass murderers Oh hungerford is wonderful
  15. So about JWP then, contribute FA doesn't he?
  16. So 14th place last season then, 13th or 14th the seasons before that. Which is equal to or better than our highest ever finish when the greatest chairman who ever lived was in charge.
  17. We had a different manager, coaching staff and chairman the January before Long signed, maybe he want a target then, perhaps? I know you get very upset about the transfer fee and like to whine about it at every opportunity you get but for once Mr Wrong is correct, £12m ain't a lot of money for a premier league striker with his experience whether you like it or not.
  18. Don't Poch and Klopp know how terrible he is? They need to read the experts on here view before they think about wasting money on him.
  19. He's not the right signing for us. Too expensive, he wont fit into the default cheap replacement not as good as the player he's come in for default mongboard mode.
  20. Hey SaintsfanNYC, it'd be totally awesome if you'd buy a southampton saints Soccerball road shirt! I know the colors don't reflect the traditon of the Soccerball club but hell, neither does having some many fans in the US of A! So get your order in and lets bring this one home!
  21. There used to be a mid season five a side tournament, in fact saints won it in 1985. Vaguely remember seeing it screened on telly as well, which might sound much now but considering back in the mid 80s hardly any live football as on telly it was exciting.
  22. £40m for those two, £40m for a training ground worth £20m, countless legal costs, a decline in commercial income despite climbing two divsions to play in the most watched league in the world. An outstanding businessman, it's no wonder AC Milan courted him for so long them snapped him up when he was available, oh wait....
  23. Ahh bless, you're hurting. Although your determination to post about CB or me at every opportunity is slightly worrying. Do you open every thread excitedly hoping to see a post from one of your heroes?
  24. Yep, the clubs PR machine is in overdrive feeding stories to the media to make Mane look bad and soften the blow when he leaves. They are doing the same with Koeman and his contract, deliberately feeding lines to the press about it so that Koeman quits and we don't have to offer him a pay rise. This is more evidence of the LACK OF AMBITION from the penny pinching board.
