Comfort Blankets of possession, fixtures and other teams games
Turkish replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
Do you think a £35m outlay and not one of those signings is in our top 3, arugably top 5 players of the season is value for money? -
It's good to have ambition. Cortese has the ambition and he'll expect to see us finish as high as possible. We should match that ambition and keep on believing.

I think they did, but whoever is advising the chairman got it wrong. We clearly needed a goalkeeper, left back, centre back and wide players if we were going to play the new formation and we ended up getting the priorities all wrong. We spent lots of money on players who had potential and would need time to adapt rather than ones who could come in and hit the ground running straight away. Regardless of all the excuses, manipulation of statistics and hysteria around our signings, the fact of the matter is that our best players this season have been ones who were already here and have made the step up. For an apporaching £35m spend including Januarys transfer that is simply shocking. -
I think he was here for about 3 months, made a couple of sub performances and then started whining he wasn't playing, Strachan told him to 'play better and get fitter then' so yes, good shout, his instead of Oakley probably.

So let me get this straight. You saw a bloke from a distance at a golf club in Abu Dabhi who you thought looked a bit like Nigel Adkins, this bloke was meeting someone who you didn't recognise but appeared to have been playing golf from the way he was dressed. A day later after googling football club chairman It turns out this bloke was Nigel Adkins and the bloke you didn't recognise that he was meeting the billionaire Aston Villa owner Randy learner. They met in the section set aside for "normal people" at this golf club, in public, on the day of a golf tournament making no attempt to keep their meeting a secret. Yep, i'm convinced.

Another example of our sandpit dwelling golfer being ITK. If there is anything Duabi Phil isnt ITK about its not worth knowing.

You said he shouldn't go to prison because he'd suffered enough and it was a waste of money. You are wrong, they should get the sentance that fits the crime, which is a custodial one.

still talking about me i see. I must dominate your every thought. -
They deserve to go to prison because the usual sentance for that crime is a custodial one. That's how it is young Andy and no amount of wailiing about if it stops other people doing it or not is going to change that.

Good to see people getting thier excuses in early.

Just about, probably because Villa or Wigan will relegate one or the other on the last day. I'm a lot less confident that i was a month ago though, despite all the shots at goal we keep having. -
the average sentance for the crime is 10 months apparently, he can consider himself to have had a squeeze. The point of jailing him is that the crime warrant a custodial sentance.

If it's based on what they did throughout their whole careers not just with Saints then mine would be this. GK Niemi, Tim Flowers, Chris Woods DEF Jason Dodd, Dan Petrescu Neil Ruddock, Dean Richard, Micheal Svenson, Ken Monkou Wayne Bridge, Graeme Le Saux Mid Matt Le Tiss, Jamie Redknapp, Gareth Bale, Theo walcott, Ronnie Eklund, Eyal Berkovic, Anders Svenson, Alex Oxlainde Chamberlain, Matthew Oakley, ST Mark Hughes, Kevin Phillips, Peter Crouch, James Beattie, Marion Pahars. All those in their prime is a top 6 side.

Glad to se justice has been done.
-
You wouldn't be defending him if he was a tory young andy! Regardless of what you think in your misty eyed world the reality is people aren't treated the same under law and in anycase someone in a position of authority and responsibilty has to behave in such a manner and if they step out of line need to be punished.
-
Tim Flowers over both of them.
-
Is this based on what they did in a Saints shirt or what they did throughout their careers with other clubs but played for Saints since 1992? If its the first the Walcott, Bale and Chamberlain wouldn't make mine and if it's the later then you've got keepers like Chris Woods who was here on loan and Jamie Redknapp, Kevin Phillips and Mark Hughes who was a fantastic player for other clubs, not so fantastic for us to consider.

As has everyone who commits a crime. Once they are convicted they can often face family difficulties, lose their jobs as well as the stress that the trial itself puts you under. As public figures they have a duty to act responsibly and if they commit crimes, especially willful ones like this then they should be punished for it, if anything more severely than a member of the public would be.

nearly 50 shots at goal the last two games. one goal, one point.
-
Of course, this happens from time to time, but when it keeps happening you have to wonder what the problem is.
