  1. Looking forward to Stephens further development as our Trent-Arnold in his hybrid role. Baz will be full of confidence after a clean sheet. The midfield will be confident at the confidence seeping out of every pore of our defence which should free up our attackers for a masterclass. I can’t see anything other than 70% possession minimum
  2. 80% possession 😍
  3. Yeah but we’ve only lost one in three, if we lose one in three during the play offs we could go up as long as the one isn’t the final.
  4. We really arent. We have an identity and a philosophy, not all shit creeks are bad one. Imagine being up a shit creek where you’re playing entertaining football, proud of what you’re seeing. Imagine that and cheer up you sad fuck
  5. We seem to certainly lead in breaking things that aren’t broken
  6. It’s good job daleks aren’t real as he’d have been exterminated a long time ago
  7. I think they had a strong finish to the season where they narrowly missed out on the play offs. I believe this was put down to Russball finally clicking with the team. The exactly opposite of what’s happened to us so wonder what’ll be the excuse this season.
  8. I’m surprised they’re surprised though. His track record was there for all to see before we went and got him. His teams concede a lot of goals, always have. As things stand he doesn’t look like the man to get us up and he certainly ain’t the man to keep us up.
  9. If you lose a game 3-2 how does conceding one of those three goals not contribute to you losing the game? Anyone else not get what you’re on about?
  10. This is nuts https://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-daily-telegraph/20240405/281513641173194
  11. Yep we will get absolutely murdered if we go up. Conceding 51 goals with players like THB and KWP in the back 4 is unbelievable. We’d concede over 100 if we went up
  12. Congratulations @saint1977 want to take your place in the CoT?
  13. how does conceding a goal in a game you lose by one goal not contribute to losing a game? You're going to have to explain that one The third goal, Player almost on the penalty spot is allowed all day to fall over whilst 4 players stood watching not reacting, nothing to do with dis-organisation. You need to watch the game again as i did notice the other day you said we conceded the 2nd and 3rd goals after Bree got sent off.
  14. I wonder if anyone will quote the fact he's been statistically the worst keeper in the division for the second season running.
  15. Kayla Rendell earns first England senior call-up | Southampton FC Official Site Good news for Kayla here. Surprised no one else mentioned this what with it being the first international call up the Saints ladies has had since it was formed. Big news.
  16. you keep blaming this. Bree was sent off with 5 minutes left plus 7 minutes of injury time. We conceded in the last seconds of that due to our inept defending where a player could miss the ball, fall over in the penalty area and still recover to get a tame shot in whilst 4 players stood there watching. That's was zip all to do with Bree being sent off it was shocking defending. Like the first goal where Bree sliced his clearance then lost his man, shit goalkeeping too. Then there was the second one where an Ipswich player is completely unmarked in the penalty area to score. 3 pieces of U10s defending and 3 goals. You can blame Baz as well as his part in it was shite too but for all three goals the Ipswich players shouldn't even be able to get shots away like they did. Losing had zip all to do with Bree being sent off it had everything to do with poor defending and goalkeeping
  17. So the premier league creates a monster where staying in the league to get the riches on offer is all that matters to a lot of clubs. But by clubs doing what they can to stay so they can at least try and complete they’re going to deduct them points thus relegating them anyway? Meanwhile clubs at the top can do what they want and get away with it. Game is fucked beyond belief.
  18. we have teams in 7th and 8th at home on consecutive Tuesday so surely not even we can screw this up? We play Coventry next week currently in 7th 14 points below us if we win that even if we lose Saturday and they win they’ll be 14 points behind us and they’ll have 5 to play. So we’d then have to lose every game and them win every game to over take us.
  19. It’s a shame Bree is suspended as it’ll mean Walker-Peters will play for sure. It’ll be interesting see after Brees shite clearance then losing his man for the first goal Monday if Martin drops him applying the same logic he did to KWP
  20. Yep, it’s been conceding late goals, soft goals and failing to hold onto leads that are costing us not having another striker who can score 20+ to make a us win games 4-3 if I was manager of a team at any level I’d start by having a competent, solid goalkeeper, in front of them two central defenders whose job it is to defend, put their bodies on the line, get blocks in, tackles mark properly, in front of them a strong holding midfielder, unless they were injured or their form fell off a cliff they’d start every game and then build everything else around them.
  21. Bazunu might improve but at what cost? Are we going to stick with him for a few more years costing points then if when he’s finally good enough flog him, which we know is going to happen. The reality is he’s probably at least 5-6 years away from getting anywhere towards his peak to the point where a top club would want him that can afford to pay what the fee will be. Plus unlike other positions you can only play one goalkeeper soo ok no guarantee even if he is ever good enough anyone would want him. how many more points are we going to drop between now and then? Man City must love dealing with us, with the money they’ve made from us we’ve basically covered Haalands transfer fee.
  22. Just like strikers and centre backs our glovesman recruitment has been absolutely ridiculous for years. Signing Gunn for £10m when we already had Forster and McCarthy. Giving McCarthy a long term contract which made him one of the clubs highest paid players whilst never really being a competent keeper and is now third choice. Signing Lis then loaning him out, signing a keeper who had never played above league one level and expecting him to immediately become a premier league level keeper. Then having back up so bad you have to stick with him despite him being not up to the job, it’s an utter shambles when you look at it. How hard is it to pickup a fairly experienced and competent goal custodian that might make the odd point winning save?
  23. No
  24. A real statement of intent!
  25. Our form has been pretty poor of late w5 d1 l4 last 10 games. Over a 46 game season 73 points so might just about have made play offs. Right at the time when we should be kicking on with everyone fully onboard with Russball it all seems to have fallen off a cliff. Blackburn need a win so will be well up for it. Expect the usual script lots of the ball, concede a soft goal well score probably be a draw
