  1. Noel is right. It wasn't just about them they hit the top at a time when things in the UK were pretty good. It was cool to be British, we had great music, hosting Euro 96, London was a fashionable city for the first time since the 60s, we had great night clubs, fashion, we'd come out of the shit of the early 90s with the recession and poll tax and generally there was an optimism. I remember it being a brilliant time to be young. Compare that to now when i dont think there could be a worse time since kids were forced to go up chimneys and work in factories. As for Oasis themselves saw them first at Bournemouth, possibly might have been the same gig as you, IIRC Blur played in Bournemouth the same night. Did Maine Road same year as Knebworth with a load of DEF yoof, several other times in the late 90s then a few more times in the 00s, Bournemouth again where Liam seemed ill, his voiced was crap and was having coughing fits between songs, finally Slane Castle in Ireland, weekend in Dublin with the boyz, supported by Kasabian and the Prodigy which was amazing and probably the best gig i've been too. Never seen so many ruined people on one place though, some of them barely able to walk even before Kasabian were on stage.
  2. wondered why i'd not see that yank bird gobbing off on twitter for a while
  3. Which other premier league club would he get into? He'd struggle to even be second choice at 2/3s of them i'd say. Which other top half championship club does he get into? Whilst being one of our highest earners for the last few years he's made 30 appearances for us since the start of 2021/22 season and now in his ninth season only 131 ever. There is a reason for that.
  4. How about Wade Elliott, Darren Anderson or Sam Vokes? Top flight experience and that all important quality of being Saints fans
  5. Our keeper situation is a debacle. Of our two fit keepers One of them is shit and the other is so shit when our first choice keeper got injured he went from being second choice to second choice 🤣🤣🤣
  6. Thoughts? Mixed views for me. This is probably my stone roses moment. When they reformed I was desperate for a ticket as I was a little bit too young first time round and by the time they’d sorted their shit out for the second coming album their moment had gone. I remember quite few people who’d been there in the early days didn’t bother as they had the view of been there when it mattered. Same for me with Oasis, saw them plenty of times in the 90s and 00s so not over fussed about seeing them now. (At the moment) However whilst they weren’t the greatest musicians or songwriters in the world without doubt, like the Stone Roses before them mean an awful lot to people of a certain age group. Definitely along with Blur, Pulp, Shed Seven, the verve, Suede were the soundtrack to my teenager years. Come ticket sale day though wonder if I’ll be online like a lot of others.
  7. He owes me about 20, too arrogant to do it though.
  8. with a CV like that who wouldn't be proud?
  9. i can neither confirm or deny your comment as loose lips sink ships
  10. as the old saying goes "say what you see"
  11. @tdmickey3 now thinks innocent people getting stabbed is funny. Proper wierdo
  12. hasn't he already?
  13. A women, who sounds like and innocent bystander, was stabbed and if fighting for her life and your first thought it to make a political dig at posters on a football forum? wow.
  14. We are aware we carry the hopes and dreams of the entire fan base on our shoulders, which perhaps explains the emotional out burst when people dont what they want to hear. However we only deal in facts and truth and not some made up world of emperors new clothes like they do on the summer transfer thread. (O'Reily being a classic example) read this thread you get FACTS.
  15. i'd love to see proof of this story that's "doing the rounds" it sounds like one of those stories that happen very often that just happen in a house in a small village in Kent.
  16. careful we'll all be accused of bullying him again.
  17. The facts say otherwise, this thread has never been more popular. unsurprising given where we are at in the transfer window and the hopes of an entire fanbase eagerly refreshing the thread every few seconds desperate for an update.
  18. People are being jailed for spreading fake news Nick, sleep with your shoes on.
  19. My record speaks for itself. We usually say you cannot be a legend before death, i have proven that wrong. I am a posting legend.
  20. the criteria was laid out of what qualifies as a popular thread when you were hiding after making a cock of yourself a few weeks ago. The summer transfer thread did not achieve he minimum standards required, the COT thread hits them all. Which brings me on to the second point of people being shown up for what they are, something you have achieved mastery at.
  21. rest assured Tame the whatsapp group is VERY busy right now. Stuff happening with the first domino likely to fall into place today, the second within 48 hours is what we're hearing.
  22. Most popular thread on this forum ✅ Most lols on a post in this forum history ✅ Weekly i hit double digit lols in response to my posts ✅ 2 threads on the lounge with over 30 and 50 pages of responses ✅ Most ITK poster ✅ If it's a serious topic Turkish wins. If it's a fun topic Turkish wins. If it's a football topic Turkish wins. If its funny posts Turkish wins Turkish does not need this forum as much as this forum needs Turkish.
  23. Why is that a problem? Where is the fun in just posting names? Whilst this thread is a serious one and very popular as have been proven by the fact it's the most popular thread on here it's also fun. The clues are blindingly obvious once explained. I mean take last summer, i posted a picture of the South Downs in Sussex, two weeks later Downes signed. This summer posted a green and white smiley face, a month later we signed Fernandes from Sport Lisbon, it isn't my fault some of you believed the false prophets going on about O'Reilly when this a long way away.
  24. still on bail i believe.
  25. How many people were there and how many arrests were there? It's a tiny percentage. 7000 police officers on duty and 37 injured, that's less than 1%. What is you point?
