He is already buzzing because he has heard Robert Huth HAS HAD A MEDICAL at Leicester's training ground.
-
He will know how much potential the lad has and I am sure the club will trust him but a tough deal to get done in the last 2 days of a window. If he isnt someone thats going to come and boost the team right now a great deal then its not a huge issue if we wait til the summer. Especially as it looks like Djuricic is signing, although you wonder if he really do want both, and basically have him lined up in the case of not being able to get Vilhena. Otherwise would have Davis, JWP, Vilhena and Djuricic essentially playing for one (two at a push) starting places.

Snail Mail says they want £5m. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2935111/Southampton-cough-5m-want-sign-Feyenoord-midfielder-Tonny-Vilhena.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Saints Sign Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Definitely a better comparison than to any of our other players (from the videos anyway) in terms of playing style. Hopefully he has a better attitude/application. -
He is a sub today. Move unlikely I think. No reason for them to sell if they have no replacement.

Saints Sign Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica

Could be a clever signing. Player with something to prove and who is the type we don't have i.e a player who could play the no 10 role but in a different way to JWP and Davis as he looks like he runs with the ball more. -
Dutch Journalist from VI: Chance Vilhena afternoon sitting for the last time on the bench at #Feyenoord, although at this time the likelihood that he will stay.
-
Karim El Ahmadi who was average to say the least at Villa. Clasie who we want also.
-
Davo has already signed a new deal so maybe he is being sold?
-
In what way? He could score one and then never score again?
-
So much of this is just factually wrong. We got £1.5m not £4m. He wasn't with us in L1. Etc
-
So unfortunate in many ways. I suspect being fully fit for the start of next season would be a good outcome at this stage.
-
Says a lot without saying much. Nothing bad, far from it, but nothing that wasn't known. Be interesting to know how much our form and subsequent exposure have been able to boost the commercial side of the Club and whether he has made any dents into the US market, where we will surely head for pre season.
-
Sounds like Vilhena rather than Djuricic and that Vilhena is one for the future rather than a player to make a huge impact now.
-
Koeman says no idea when he will be back training with the team.
-
VI reporting Les Reed today made the first bid for Vilhena. Player is very keen, Feyenoord slightly less so at the moment. Edit: Journo says it will be tough to do. 50/50. Thinks it would take more than £3m.
-
I don't think he is/was. Very good PL player, not in the Schneiderlin league. The amount of posts on his departure shows he is valued.
-
Agents would know. If not from Saints then from the club making the offer. Unless we replace well then financially not a great deal.
-
Alan Cork: Don't know where 3m is coming from, one thing is sure if he signs it is a bargain,75% less than the 6m they turned down in Aug. £1.5m then. Bit of a waste of £4.5m from what he has offered this season.

Key is not to have any monster bad run like in December. One of those periods and you can say goodbye to fourth. Also some of the lower teams will improve so its harder to predict our results and our rivals. Going to be very interesting. I hope if we fail its because we werent good enough rather than via injury crisis

Slightly old...but interesting still: http://www.dutchfootball-league.com/dutch-football-talent-scout-tonny-vilhena/

Only thing you could argue they messed up is not showing him they really valued him by offering a contract sooner, as you would with a key player. Koeman said about Clyne that you never let a player reach less than 12months but they did with Cork. IMO he wouldnt have been too buzzed up by comments like that which show we didnt really value him that much (fair enough). As an aside the Echo said the deal he turned down would have made him one of the highest earners which must be BS because if we valued him high enough to pay that then he wouldnt have to worry about game time. But yes, nothing Club can do if he wants games and we can't offer them.
-
I think he has the capability to score and could easily ramp up his scoring rate once he gets that first one.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jack-cork-swansea-city-more-8549785 Monk says is basically done and he was slightly suprised Cork was available and thinks he can still be a "top midfielder".

If McNair and Blackett get starts and Darren Fletcher is a bench fixture then probably yes. United not a great example.
