  1. West Ham the more threatening side. Especially from set plays.
  2. If you mean Carroll then its good for them. Their best form has been with Valencia and Sakho up front. If its the same Wednesday then they will test our centre backs as much as any team has.
  3. They have a centre back crisis for today and Carroll out, wonder if that will chance come Wednesday?
  4. More likely could we be interested in Trippier as Clyne's replacement? Good player who gets forward well.
  5. Good player. Not suited to how we play but will score lots of goals for Liverpool next season I'm sure.
  6. That was an utterly baffling decision, clear free kick and no advantage was gained. Schneiderlin got booked for a tactical block with loads of players covering yet Hill (I think) got nothing for the Elia one where he was through one v one with a defender. If that had been in the second half its a yellow every time.
  7. Are they actually that physical. Will probably have Sakho and Valencia up front, with Noble, Downing, Song etc in midfield. They aren't lightweight, but I wouldn't hugely change what we do because of them. I'm sure Mourinho didn't drop Hazard and Fabregas when they played WH.

    Mane

Davis looks ****ing miserable too. Probably wishes he was still at Rangers.
  9. He wasn't poor IMO. He just hasn't got a goalscoring instinct. Most of his passing was excellent.
  10. And setup the goal with some composure in the final third that had often been lacking. Cannot criticise him today.
  11. If Everton can hold them that would be brilliant. Liverpool and Spurs looking strong at the moment.
  12. Oh and there were a few of Victor's family and friends in the front row, some with Celtic coats on! They seemed to enjoy it.
  13. What a celebration in the away end when Mane scored. He was by miles our best attacker. Teams hate playing against him because he makes good runs in behind and actually forces defenders to defend. Lovely finish and he had half chances to get more. Has a really decent goal record for us of late, a very key player and probably the only outstanding on one display today. We were superior to them but just didnt quite take advantage of the good situations we had. QPR were poor and just looked get Austin running channels and Phillips to test Yoshida out wide. Constructive criticism despite the win: 1. We went too route one into Pelle and then often failed to get either Davis or JWP anywhere near him. Pelle didnt have a great game and picked up some knocks, but his hold up play is certainly good enough for one of the CMs to gamble occassionally. 2. Distribution from Gardos was poor. 3. Sometimes our midfield needed to release Mane or Elia sooner rather than taking an extra touch. 4. Pelle held the ball up well I thought against tough opponents in Dunne and Caulker, but he just doesn't seem as sharp and chances arent falling for him. Tired, lacking confidence or just not as lethal as he seemed in autumn? Other Points: Morgan now has 8 yellows I think, so a 2 game ban looming for him. Have to make sure Wanyama doesn't also get banned for the same games. Whilst Elia and Mane both did well individually (Mane especially), I am not sure it really works with the two of them as it becomes a bit ragged and more direct as both are always looking to run in behind. Great win, now need 4 points from the next two to stay on track.
  14. Agree. There was a moment first half today where Pelle (I think) played it into Mane on the edge of the box and he backheeled it beautifully for JWP to run through on goal. Except JWP had stopped. Doesn't have the instinct that a Lampard, Sigurdsson type show in that sort of poaition and until he is braver in his movement off the ball we will never get a goal return from him. Otherwise had a tidy enough game.
  15. Decent lineup and good bench options.
  16. Huge blow for a player of that age and potentially career threatening you would think. Imagine its a cruciate ligament injury.
  17. Spot on. Interesting timing for a "blog post" suggesting he is progressing well, given that yesterday Koeman pretty much said he will do well to play this season. That is all. Hopefully he does come back as is a great player hence the likes of City or Spurs being interested in him. Shame his recovery hasn't gone entirely to plan. Initially he was hoping to be back for Burnley in December so to maybe miss the whole season would be tough on him personally too, and if he won't sign a new contract it is a difficult situation for Saints to handle as we won't want to lose him on a free but may struggle to get a decent fee in the summer if he hasn't proven his fitness.
  18. Didn't even say it was my view.
  19. Cynical view: Nice PR to make sure those interested clubs don't forget about him now the transfer window has shut. I wonder where all those stories about City, Spurs etc interest originated from?
  20. Probably the first real sign of Poch being a bit irked at our good form this season. Would have been a lot easier for him if we had faded away.
  21. Be suprised if JWP doesn't start, just because he usually does.
  22. Going by the training pics Wanyama and Schneiderlin will be fine. Toby and Djuricic not training. Djuricic probably has to sort documentation I reckon.
  23. Offer IMO was poor. Especially given the riches of the PL and the potential of the player. Made worse by Koeman's comments I think. He could just have refused to comment on other players.
  24. If its ability to win that is the criteria then Forster would be top! (And not because he has been brilliant either).
  25. Be interesting to know how he is doing with the commercial side, especially in the US. We will never have more publicity than this season so hopefully its helping.
