£4m is a bargain for a PL quality player these days. Hopefully with a full pre season he can do well. Similar level to a Maharez/Nathan Dyer IMO. He isn't actually that quick I don't think but has some lovely skill at times.

Is he better than a fit Jay Rod? No Will Jay Rod get fully fit? Probably Will Jay Rod leave this summer? Probably if you believe the press. Would Austin be a decent signing? Yes for anywhere around or under £12m.

Not doom and gloom. As said, we will get a big fee, have been able to plan a replacement for 12 months and have been able to see him grow from a talented lightweight into a top class International player. Only negative from me re Morgan is the stuff from last summer, which got silly. But it takes two to tango anyway.

Been clear all season that we said he could go this coming summer after we blocked him leaving last time. He is a lot more high profile now though so we should get at least 25m for him which will allow us to replace. He has been a great player for Saints for many years so don't think anyone begrudges him a move to a top club. Will always be welcomed back to St Mary's hopefully.

Very good player. Aside from Lambert by some distance the best striker we had in the L1 and Championship seasons. Classy, great clever movement and could finish.

Definitely has the aura of a big club Manager. Deals well with the media and has a good image too which always helps the PR.

Adkins, Pochettino and Koeman all looked at him and thought he wasn't good enough. How many teams have a six yard box poacher who has a poor allround game? Closest I can think of was Hernandez at United/Real who is obviously miles better than Sharp. Look at his career and there are more teams he has flopped at than been good at. He was playing with Lallana, Lambert, Cork, Schneiderlin - very good PL players. Doesn't mean he was one, just like Chaplow or Guly who we all knew wouldn't cut it once we went up.

Yeah Mayuka has had loads of game time! Sharp is a lower league journeyman really. Can't even get starts in a poor Leeds team, didn't at Forest and not even all the time at Doncaster when he was there on loan. Was pretty clear he was nowhere near a PL quality to me.

Most of the players we had good songs for left in the summer.

Koeman was more influential that getting Toby here. But he will have many options and is a CL quality defender. Will be aa hard to keep him as it would be Clyne or Morgan. They are the three almost definites to go and that isn't being negative, its realistic.

Agent talk to get interested clubs to hurry up.

Against Chelsea the 10 will play deeper so more likely Davis or JWP. Tadic and Mane either side of Pelle for me. Wasn't as if Long did anything to show he should start. His first touch is ****ing woeful and we will need someone who can hold the ball up, and Pelle does that.

The big teams win these games and pretty much will win most until the end of the season.
