Saints 1 Palace 0 - Post Match Nerve Reconstruction
Saint Charlie replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Great win, deserved. Mane is out most threatening attacker and has a habit of scoring crucial goals, great finish. Word for Pelle. Played well tonight IMO and would have been nice to have him at the end to hold the ball up. Long showed he can be an ok impact sub option, but also showed the aspects of his game that mean he will struggle to start games for us. Wanyama and Clyne a little sloppy at times. Djuricic looked promising, some nice touches and a burst of acceleration. Great option for games where JWP/Davis not needed, at home vs teams that camp behind ball. Tadic did well and IMO should start over Elia. Has composure at key moments. Yoshida picked a bad time to have his most iffy game for a while. Toby back for Chelsea. Forster recovered from a dodgy first half moment with some vital second half saves. Final word for Palace. Decent team who actually looked to attack (fair play) and great fans. -
Koeman doesn't rate him and you can see why.
-
Top team listed there is our best IMO.

http://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/article/crystal-palace-midfielder-mile-jedinak-has-accepted-the-violent-conduct-charge-from-the-football-association.-2310139.aspx Jedinak accepts charge. Wonder if ban will start tonight?
-
I would start Pelle tonight personally. Got to find the net at some stage so dropping him wouldn't achieve anything.
-
Jedinak charged by the FA but will play anyway most likely.
-
I thought we were just going to replace him with someone better? He was only a glorified FM player too according to some here. Pretty obvious Koeman has had a massive say in recruitment and by the looks of it will do too in the summer.
-
For Jedinak to be banned they will have to sort it fairly quickly. Would they need to allow him time to respond to the charge too? If so, then hard to see how it could be dealt with in time.
-
Does Long need a run of games? I don't think he will ever be more than an impact sub for us really. As we havent seen him for a while I fear people have forgotten how awful his first touch is and how bad he is in possession. He runs and works hard, is useful at certain times but would only be a nailed on starter for lower half PL teams, which is pretty much what he has always played in. Four year contract FFS!
-
Agree but Newcastle are more of a shambles than a back four with Fox and Hooiveld in it.
-
Anything below 7th would be very poor based on where we have been most of the season. 7th is where we will finish IMO but will never have a better chance of top 6.
-
Lallana has been good today, the type of form that earned him the move. Quality player and good to watch.
-
Also a big game atmosphere. The kind we never have.
-
No chance we are finishing ahead of Liverpool. Also, Lallana miles better than Tadic so lets stop that nonsense about Tadic being an upgrade.
-
Hooiveld to return and then head to Millwall?

Quality OG from Jos yesterday. Good to see he still has the dancing feet. Will look back on his career and realise how lucky he was to play PL football. -
For balance: there have been matches he has been outstanding in.
-
Don't give me this bull****. There were NO strikers available anywhere in the world in January that would have fancied playing for a good team in the best league in the world. There are two SWF approved striker targets, Ings and Austin and neither were attainable so we didn't sign one. Not hard to understand the above, but I don't expect you to Dig Dog.
-
He wouldn't leave us for Newcastle. He will be at a much bigger club than us or them for his next job.
-
Shaw was a phenomenal teenager and had been tipped to come through for ages. Kane had been scoring in the lower leagues on loan and representing England at all ages plus making an impact in Europa League football. Seager scores goals in a santized U21 league playing mostly with and against teenagers. If Koeman thought he could score goals at PL level then he would have featured more than one cameo sub appearance considering the lack of forward options we have had at times this season.
-
Gallagher looks miles off in the U21s. Not really an option.
-
No chance now. Others will better players and bigger squads are in form and now virtually level with us. Top 6 will be very tough, we will probably come 7th which is great but would be a little deflating after being up there for so long.

--------------------Forster-------------------- Clyne---Fonte-----Toby-----Bertrand ------------Morgan---Wanyama------- ----------------------Davis--------------------- Tadic-------------------------------------Mane ----------------------Long------------------------- Not a Long fan but Pelle needs taking out. Elia not doing enough to start and would consider Djuricic over Tadic potentially.
-
Not the right time and he isn't probably at the level needed from what Ive seen of the U21s.
-
Mane is our most dangerous attacker and he wouldn't even make the bench in your opinion so sure Ronald won't lose sleep. Need to get back to the consistent selection from earlier in the season, during our best spell.
-
Suprised more hasn't been made of it tbh. If it had been Shaw he would have been given a lot of stick.
