I loved it versus Liverpool at SMS when Hoovield was side by side with Suarez running towards our goal. Jos tripped himself up and the ref blew for a foul thinking (wrongly) Suarez had tripped Hooiveld. Suarez just stood over Hooiveld who was lying on the floor (again) and basically just laughed at him. Disclaimer: I know he was a great signing for us and part of the journey back to the PL etc.

Gallagher went over to Sassuolo as part of the Saphir Taider deal. Hasn't played a lot for their first team but is prolific in their U21s. Was hushed up for obvious reasons, what a cluster**** of a signing Taider was.

Wouldn't expect anything from Jay this season. Based on not tittle tattle other than its a serious injury and if he were anywhere near an U21 game then he would have been training for weeks and you would imagine the club would have tweeted the odd photo of him doing so. Surely the stuff about him not walking well is bull****.

Agree. IMO was pushed into the first team a little too soon last year. Needs to refine his game and score some goals before threatening to get a start at PL level. He has some great attributes, very raw, but I don't see many scenarios where he could play instead of Pelle without seriously weakening us. Plus has been out injured for months, will need quite a number of U21s games before being anywhere near sharp enough.

Maybe next week but come end of season no. That was a bad result for us.

Could be a big result in the top 4 race that. Between us, United, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool two will get CL and three will miss out. Going to be close, any substantial bad run rules you out. Every game counts.

Problem with Long is that you don't want your main back up strikers main attribute to be defensive work. His work rate is good but I can't take you seriously if you really believe Long's allround game is "superb". His first touch is ****. He has no composure. He wouldn't effectively replace Pelle IMO. Remember that cross when completely unchallenged that he hit onto the roof of the net? That sums him up for me, nice run and pace to get into a good position and then a lack of composure and technical ability. Exactly why he is a last resort to start league games.

Pelle obviously isn't the issue. Its his backup that is. Because there isn't any adequate backup for the role he plays.

Has to be Lambert because of the background he had and what he has gone onto achieve. Nobody could have predicted that. As brilliant as Fonte, Davis, Clyne etc have been, they had far better track records than Lambert did. Without him we wouldn't probably be in the PL.

He was class on Saturday and keeps getting chances so not worried about him one bit. A concern if he picked up an injury? Of course. Long doesn't retain the ball so the whole style falls apart. Lets be honest, Long isnt really of the calibre of most of our other players. Worth getting another striker in? IMO yes seeing as we will never have a better chance to qualify for the CL.
