Lovren is right footed but was comfortable playing left side. For a decent player it isn't too much of a problem.

Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official
Saint Charlie replied to Aziz Yebda's topic in The Saints
Its not. Its an agreed price between the clubs but no commitment needed from the player - if he decides to go elsewhere then there isnt a lot to stop him. End of the day, if we want him then we have an agreed price, but even then its still up to him where he decides to go. All this is premature though. He hasnt even shown he is worth the 6m yet. -
Plus Yoshida will be bench if he doesn't start. Imagine both he and Gardos will fiigure on the bench, assuming Toby starts.

Until we have seen them all play its a little futile.

I would go with Cork as a front sweeper for this one, to repel attacks across the width of the pitch: -------------------------------------Forster-------------------------------------- Clyne-----------------Fonte---------------------Maya-----------------Bertrand >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mane----------Long----------------Pelle--------------Tadic--------------Morgan Subs: Kelvin, Gardos, Toby, Davis, Wanyama, JWP, Reed

Superb pricing. Saints take note.

Only caveat to Bletch's excellent post is that actually Krueger isn't the CEO. Gareth Rodgers is. And that was perhaps part of the problem, nobody knew who was meant to be doing what (and to a certain extent perhaps still don't). Krueger is the figurehead Chairman, believed to be tasked with pushing the club forward commercially, yet shortly after joining the football world was thrust forward and asked questions by the likes of Solent and Sky that he couldn't answer and didn't have the terminology to appear even remotely credible. That was a massive mistake by someone. He should never have been doing those interviews and the one after the Man Utd game set the media frenzy off. But it looks like they learned from it, and credit to him, in the second raft of interviews he was much better, more experienced and appeared more comfortable talking about football - which is a key requirement of a football chairman. They were definitely naive at the start of the summer, no question.

Great ending but surely no question the end of May/early June period wasn't handled well both in the actions and certainly in the PR stakes? But fair play for the turnaround, squad as a whole possibly stronger than we ended with and will be nice to not have the distraction of the window anymore. Finally can focus on the football and we should be able to do well. Commemdable attitude re Morgan and Jay Rod. Will be interesting to see now ifnwe can persuade the likes of Clyne or Jay to sign a new deal here. As an aside, how long before they shut the bloody window on the eve of the season in each respective country?

Brilliant You Tube interview. -
Fair play. Looks a hell of a lot better than a month or two ago and squad looks decent. A few inexcusable PR gaffes in late May and June which set the tone for the media frenzy but since then they have done an admirable job. Turning point probably the furore after the Chambers sale and the uncharacteristically strong Krueger interviews following it. Massively right call in the managerial appointment. Looking forward to a good season. New contracts for Cork and Clyne would be great. Interested to see how Boruc conducts himself. Overall window: 7/10. Was 1/10 end of June.

Blatantly clear TA only came here because of Koeman. Nice to have a Manager with that gravitas.

Jos Hooiveld Joins Norwich On Season Long Loan
Saint Charlie replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Good luck lad. Good, honest pro. -
Jim White really is a tool.
-
Which will happen first for Jos, Tuesday night goal or own goal?

I'm hearing Spurs haven't given up on Jay Rodriguez and set to make a 56th pointless bid.
-
LOL at White ****ing about with his phone. Coverage awful this year, hype well and truely believed.

Stephens has moved to Swindon on loan. Perhaps could partner Turnbull in their defence.

Gaston Ramiez to Hull on Season Long Loan - Official
Saint Charlie replied to NorthamSteve's topic in The Saints
High wages for a player not always in the team. Barely any starts in last year. Mixed feelings though as obvious quality. -
Quite bizarre that Ramirez best game for us was his first home game. Never reached those heights again.
-
SSN guy at Hull again saying Ramirez has signed.
-
And anyway we have wasted a lot of money the last 3 years and are stuck with the likes of Osvaldo and Mayuka on long contracts. If not certain its a grest option. In caee of Toby would imagine he just wants to put himself in PL shop window then see what happens next summer.
-
Gaston obviously going, been reported in quite a number of places now. Probably at Staplewood to sign the contracts etc. Sounds strange but he would he so much better if he didnt play Intl football. Or was European.
-
More likely because nobody else is interested.
-
Will just be two in for Saints I reckon. Any move for Redmond would have been reported by now. Remember we have Jay Rod to come in too. Redmond wouldnt get much/any gametime if Ramirez couldn't.

@svenclaes: Update 2: Sadio Mane from Red Bull Salzburg just signed at Southampton. Now waiting for Toby Alderweireld to sign his contract. #SaintsFC
