He is holding out for another team to come in.
-
Stephens mainly playing as a centre back these days.
-
Calum Chambers, Eng U19 player. Played first team friendlies in midfield last summer, but has been switched to RB now.
-
Targett is ready to be the third choice LB. Hardly going to play every week but bringing in another would make him 4th choice. Hardly the actions of a club who encourage the pathway of young players to the first team.
-
Given the start we have to the season, I hope we do get the majority in before the season starts. Theres a real chance to make a good start if we do...
-
Lovren is a righty. If Forren has no pace he won't be covering at LB. Shaw, Fox, Targett are our LBs.
-
Had you? Most are big names, Wanyama the least heralded, the others established.
-
Would like a wide player too, but coupled to retaining existing players, if we signed those two plus Lovren we would be much stronger next season.
-
Seems very much strikers and central midfielders. No full backs also. He may feel for RB we are covered by Clyne, Chambers and then Lovren and Cork's ability to play there. No point blocking Chambers' path. Out wide we have fewer options though.

Interesting comments from MP. Sounds like perhaps Wanyama's team are trying to hold out to see what else becomes available whereas we want him to decide now. Or maybe not. Edit: Looks right from this: Sources close to the player intimated to supersport.com that Wanyama might decide his future in the next two weeks though his advisors had talked him out of accepting the Southampton deal. "Wanyama left the country yesterday (Wednesday) for Scotland where he will join his Celtic team mates in pre-season in Germany. Reports about an intended move have unsettled him since he does not want to be seen as being in a hurry to move. The Southampton deal has not impressed him as his wish is to move to a bigger team but he will be patient as there more time until the transfer window is closed," the source told supersport.com. http://www.supersport.com/football/kenya/news/130704/Wanyama_reports_for_preseason

Perhaps Banega is more likely than Wanyama and possibly cheaper too.
-
And then never again. Very uninspiring IMO.
-
West Brom going for Anelka. Poor, poor signing.
-
Good enough for me.
-
Seems we want quality over quantity which is the right way to go.
-
Good one. Ha. Ha. Oh.

In the Sky Sports transfer chat someone just asked Graeme Bailey if he thinks we are just being used by agent, or will make some big signings and he said: I certainly do, they proved last season with Gaston Ramirez that they will pay the right money for players they want. They have already bid over £10million for Victor Wanyama, whilst we brought you the story this morning of reports from Brazil suggesting they could be in talks for Leandro Damiao - Southampton are an impressive club, they are likely to make some very big signings.by GRAEME BAILEY 1:54 PM

Haven't checked multiple sources but here it suggests that is not accurate: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/leandro-damiao/leistungsdaten/spieler_139449.html

Yes. But what is the point in doing that (apparantly a few weeks of talks) if as soon as we hear the player/agent demands we cannot fulfil them. Agent would have known of our interest and we would have spoken to him whilst dealing with Celtic. The Agent clearly encouraged us as we wouldnt have bothered with agreeing a fee otherwise.
-
His goal record isn't that spectacular but you don't play as a striker for Brazil unless you are decent (or Jo). if we could deal with the club he would probs be keen as its a PL move.
-
We could...QPR would have done....
-
Quite possibly. Which then makes it odd that we couldn't agree terms - unless Cardiff are willing to bung the agent some cash. What would be the point of agreeing a very attractive fee with Celtic if we had no idea of what Wanyama and the Agent were looking for.
-
Surely if Cardiff want him that much and the Player wants to go there they will just up their bid.
-
Will they though? They are centre backs. I certainly wouldn't want to split up a CB pairing to shove one out wide or into midfield. We will be much better off if Lovren can play 38 Prem games at CB.

This one isn't true.
