Agree with MLG. When you listen, they specifically asked about Yoshida and he spoke generally about every player having to earn a place, he wasn't implying he had fallen from favour.

One report said our bid involves significantly more up front, could mean its actually a bigger difference than it suggests on paper. As I have said before, we wouldnt agree what appears to be a very substantial fee, only to hide away at the players demands. He must have some interest in coming to us, we would have checked that before we agreed a fee.

Playing narrow, with the 3 in MF certainly makes it harder for teams to play around the press. Although it makes oppo full backs harder to press.

Cork and Schneiderlin were excellent for us. Sandro and Dembele were superb also for Spurs, until Sandro got injured. What is clear for Saints though, is that when one or other of JC or MS werent available we had nobody else who could do a job in there (Davis and JWP not good enough ball winners). That is what makes a CM signing essential, especially for the way we play.

MP seemed to prefer a 4-2-3-1 when he came in, ocassionally going for a more 4-4-1-1 with JR or GR playing off Lambert. However, with the rumoured areas we are looing to strengthen, would a 4-3-1-2 actually look to be a good option? We aren't overly strong out wide yet have very good attacking full backs who could provide width. Imagine this - would be very strong in central midfield but with a bit more up top than we had at the end of last season. Slightly risky against teams that play very wide, but can be overcome if the midfield 3 are well organised.
