Italian viewpoint from @Mousse81 - very detailed article, well worth reading: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcorrieredibologna.corriere.it%2Fbologna%2Fnotizie%2Frossoblu%2F2012%2F22-agosto-2012%2Framirez-mancano-garanzie-saints-non-chiudono-affare-2111525873182.shtml

If they are in trouble they won't be able to turn €10 down for long...

Only thing I don't understand is this: If Bologna have no money and need some fast the easiest way is to sell a player like Ramirez. They have offered him around and for various reasons inclucding their terms there hasnt been anyone who has signed him. Saints are interested and fix up a deal. However - this loan business is strange. If we sign him and pay x upfront and x in instalments then Bologna have a nice sum now and guarenteed money over the terms of the agreement. If they want to get a loan and pay it off with our installments then great, its up to them. However, if they don't get this loan and that scuppers the deal how are they any better off? They will have just walked away from approx 12m over probably 3 years - how does this benefit them at all? If they can't get the loan surely they would have more reason to sell the player?
-
The whole loan thing would tie in with the Italian reports about bank guarentees...if they were basing being able to repay a loan on our installment payments then they would want to be very sure that we could pay them...
-
Will be interesting to see what he says - often its just a rehash of stuff we already know...(no offence intended)
-
Doubt there will be much on this one today, ifs at the stage where one party or the other needs to budge slightly. Hopefully nobody else will register interest. Maybe Gaston will demand to leave?
-
Sounds to me like they have said to Phillips 'If we are offered x for you then we will let you go'. Ball in our court here I reckon.
-
Or in this case in snippets every 30mins from Bologna journalists!
-
West Ham apparantly. Both good players, Phillips is stronger and more powerful.
-
I was about to say the same. Is it actually him?

Plagiarism.

You bang the same happy clappy Cortese Cuddling drum. Ramirez won't happen, we had a chance and cocked it up. We can't provide a bankers draft because there is no money, I've heard we might have to return Jay Rod to Burnley because the money just isn't there. Falque set to return as a cheap option and we will probably target Bignall next...FFS. Was so optimistic after the City game but this Ramirez fiasco has damaged my morale. We have spent more time monging about with electronic advertising boards than signing players.
-
He won't. HTH.
-
Agree.
-
He is definitely an Italian journalist, seems genuine...can only report the info he is given.....
-
Interview on 5Live. He said that Cortese hasn't got a clue how to do transfer deals and We can't provide a bankers draft for 5m offer to prove we have the cash... He actually said nothing about us or Phillips, but did say there was an 'Olympic atmosphere' at Bloomfield Rd tonight and that he would pay to watch his team.
-
Are you joking? You are the guy who seriously mentioned Dany N'Guessan last week. WUM.
-
Bologna intention is to get the most money...fair enough really. They will be happy to see what's out there and they are very, very happy to let it be known every 30mins that they are open to offers...as yet ours is the only one...
-
This - and then we can focus on other more realistic targets in the meantime so we don't miss out on them. What's Brian Howard up to? CHDAJFS? Was labelled the saviour of our midfield a short time ago?
-
Tidy finish tonight.
-
It isn't a fact though. You can be in talks with various players at the same time. That is a fact.
-
Yeah clearly, this will rumble, but we are still in with a shout.

Good teams don't want to lose good players. They know Prem teams have money and want as much as they can. Is frustrating but I'm sure we will get some good players in whatever happens with Ramirez - its just great to see the class of player we are going for.

Haha #Ramirez update: Saints now seem so far but still in the race. Bologna is trying to improve the fee: THFC, LFC and MCFC also interested
