Fair point. Fulham, West Brom, Swansea, Chelsea - none of them want him.
-
This does make sense. its all reaching a point where they have no options - no other clubs on the horizon...if they want the money....
-
Have you read the quotes from his Agent or would that ruin your argument? "The player was very happy with the offer received, but now he will probably remain at Bologna. "Tottenham is an option to be rejected at this time because they are a long way short of Bologna's demands. "Liverpool? They have never presented a concrete offer."
-
Again - where have Peter White and Simon Peach got their info from....surely a source very close to Saints... Also interesting that Ramirez agent makes it clear there are no other current offers. Sure the player isn't happy about losing a huge contract and him his slice...

Stoke can have Kightly - personally think we are aiming higher. There are a lot of players who have been around a few years who really arent all that. The likes of Stoke, Sunderland, QPR are so dull with their transfers paying huge wages to players with "Premier League experience" but have nothing to prove. Have a read of this: http://www.byfarthegreatestteam.com/posts/southampton-will-stand-tall-with-ramirez-running-the-show/ Basically susm up my thoughts on transfers and why I think your list isn't particularly great. Again, genuinely nothing personal. -

Totally agree, he looked excellent - so when you said that you "wouldn't be happy with us signing a CB that was as good as Clyne (because he had potential but maybe not the current quality)" can you see why I thought that might be wrong? -

Of that list only Michu, Vlaar and maybe Snodgrass would add to our squad - and Snodgrass for me would be far below Phillips and Ramirez on the list. Have faith - we will do better deals than you think! -

Any point of view is fine. What he was saying orginally is that Clyne has potential but isn't good enough yet, Jay Rod has potential but isn't good enough yet. I put it to him that if we signed a couple more players at that level ie a CB who is as good as Clyne then we would have done good business. He disagreed and felt we should be targeting better players. That is all. No problem with opinions, but if you express one that is the opposite end from everyone else then expect some questions directed your way. DPS was asked by many to post a list of players to target that were better than JR and Clyne's level in positions we should target - and the list was awful. The other day he was rejoicing about Ramirez and saying he had probably called the situation wrong, now he is getting worried again...we all just need to sit tight and wait til the end of the window. Im pretty certain we will have some very good players in to add to the good squad we have. -

So by saying "not enough quality" surely implies a negative opinion versus someone who was happy with our signings? -

On the 15th of August you said: If they don't have enough quality then surely that can reasonably translate as you not being happy with our signings? Problem with you is you make these rash sweeping comments and then don't like it when people jump on you for them - like when you gave a list of players we should target instead and 90% of them were crap - of course people will point that out. -

One post on this: Politely, IMO there are two issues which is why people moan about some of your guys posts: 1. They seem to ignore anything that Adkins says about transfers, our ambitions, way we will do business and assume the neagative in every occurance. 2. Once you post an opinion it has been read. You don't need to repeat it hundreds of times - we know that you arent impressed with our signings and feel we arent going about bringing players in the right way. The above opinion is fine. What is annoying is the constant repetition of it as if you havent already told us. I know more about your thoughts on our transfer policy than I do about my own. End. -
And so must our sources be as well, otherwise where does the info come from? Saints want us to believe its happening, Bologna sure it isn't.

Now linked in Italian press with Omar El Kaddouri. -
So now Bologna know that we are closing in on other players and their 12m is sliding away...suprise suprise...
-
Probably only the same as Peter White and Simon Peach - where do you think they go their identical information from at the same time? All Journalists are reliant to a certain extent on what clubs and agents feed them otherwsie why would they have updates to give at all? Those Tweets say that Saints are confident about the deal, or at least they want it to be in the UK public domain that if the deal doesn't happen it is not our fault, we have other targets and its Bologna that have messed about. Bologna of course say the opposite...
-
Ramirez's agents comments tie in with what Simon Peach and Peter White reported this morning. It is all to rush Bologna into agreeing the deal. If Ramirez' agent really thought it wasnt going to happen then he would be angry and would blame whichever side messed it up. His Client just about to miss a bumper pay day, and he would miss his slice....
-
Are Bologna particularly in a worse financial position than other Italian clubs? As in: can they actually afford to walk away from this deal?
-
Interesting the Agent of the player is saying that Saints are turning to other targets yet Saints have fed some journalists with the line that they are confident a deal will happen...

FFS sake its not even 1pm yet. -
Agree - not the sort of player we want at the club. I think derry knew about this yesterday when he said he wasn't fussed if we signed him or not, makes sense now.
-
Also we are trying to build up the squad, have quality on the bench etc so not sure what the point would be of getting rid of Puncheon?
-
Why? Up to us what we pay him. Its just a technicality in the payment instalment terms.
-
The more I read on it just sounds like Bologna want to be sure they will actually get all the money at a point fairly soon. After the situation they had with Espanyol for Osvaldo they are very wary.
