Lots of the comments refer to him being their best defender and are generally positive. They might feel we are paying a lot because he has a year on the confract but that doesn't make him a better or worse player but it does mean they make money from him that they wouldn't if he sat out his last year.

Exactly. And most of the Bristol City fans on their forum refer to him as their best defender. He is young, hungry and has potential to improve, sounds like the sort of player we go for, and rightly so.

I'm quite sure Adkins knows what he is doing. Fontaine has played over 200 games for Bristol City, mostly in the Championship and captained them in the first game of the season - sure he is no mug. Sounds like he had a good spell at City but needs to move on to fulfil his potential.

Was never convinced Gorkss was a top target or surely it would have been wrapped up sooner. You have to trust NA. The two sre clearly different types of player so he obviously wants a bit more pace...

Fonte can more than handle himself in the air. Doesn't lose many headers and attacks the ball really well.

Haha...nice try. Will be funny having Fonte and Fontaine playing together. Add in Frazer and Fox then 'F' is taking over from 'Dan' or 'Danny' as the defence common denominator!

True, but Martin has probably only played about 10 pro football matches - he needs games! We could always recall him if needed.

Seems to fit the bill - young but experienced, and hungry. Will be interesting if this means either Martin will go out on loan.

Bring him in and get Martin out on loan to play regular league football.

Seaborne clipped a lovely ball to Harding in injury time where we won a free kick to pretty much seal it. Yes he clears the ball, but when he has time his left foot is pretty good IMO. Certainly far better on the ball than either Martin or Jaidi.

Still need another striker to add to the options, Lambert was great but needed subbing after 70mins!
