  1. If we do go a goal down this will be a very difficult match. An early goal is needed to draw Rotherham onto us. We should win and I think we will.

    David Brooks

A perfect example of the many Bmuff fans who call us arrogant and then proceed to be erm....arrogant. At the end he tries to make something of the fact that their next game is against West Ham whereas our's is against Rotherham conveniently overlooking the fact that for years we were playing the top sides while they were coming up against the Rotherhams and below. I trust he will enjoy this short-term smugness because, in my most arrogant fashion, normal service will be resumed shortly
  3. I think you are possibly seeing Alcaraz through rose-tinted glasses. He gives the ball away a lot and often very cheaply - ok, on occasions he loses it by trying something special but generally he is too careless with the ball for our style. Rothwell needs time and I think may prove an astute signing.
  4. Aribo suits our style more than Alacraz - he gives the ball away far less and is a lot stronger so I would disagree but this game is all about opinions of course.
  5. It's a no brainer for us because he hasn't ripped up this league like we thought he would and when playing has been giving the ball away far too much for our style. It's win-win for us because Alcaraz gets 6 months with a top Italian club who presumably pay all his wages and, if they want him after that they'll have to pay a premium of over 35 million - if not he returns next season with some useful experience under his belt. I doubt he'd be getting loads of game time for us based on his performances lately so would mainly have been warming the bench. Sensible business in my book.

Welcome David and let's hope your time with us proves mutually beneficial. Good luck to you.
  7. Agree, far happier with this than if we'd signed Benson. Could be great for us in the crucial remaining games.

    Che Adams

If he does go and there is no adequate replacement we can kiss goodbye to an automatic promotion spot.
  9. Not sure which Armstrong you are referring to but if it's AA he needs to remain in his present position which is his most effective in terms of goals and assists. You don't cover my point about the possibility of Adams leaving in this window.
  10. I just think from what I've seen of him he wouldn't add a great deal because we have quite a few wingers on our books already and he's not stand-out enough to warrant adding another. We need a striker because if Adams goes or gets injured we will be relying on Mara or maybe playing a false number nine. If we are only getting one extra body in I think we should be prioritising a striker not a winger.
  11. I think we have priorities in other positions notably striker. Also don't believe he's that good a player - just my opinion of course.
  12. We'll only learn anything meaningful if we put out a strong side. Fail to do so and we'll likely get battered.
  13. Not fussed as I don't think he'd add a great deal to the squad.
  14. I'm not saying put out our strongest side but just as an example our starting midfield today was very weak. I'm sure we could mix it up a bit and allow players a bit of a rest with clever use of subs. Let's at least give them a bit of a game if we do get through against Watford.
  15. Have to say he disappointed me today. This was a chance to show what he's about but he looked sluggish, very slow and lacking in self belief. He probably wasn't helped by the fact that the whole team was completely lack-lustre until the 4 subs came on but I expected to see more.
  16. If we do win the replay we need to send out a much stronger side than today against Liverpool or it could be embarrassing.
  17. Agree about Smallbone. There are quite a few on here who don't see what he brings to the side but, for me, he is one of the most crucial cogs to the wheel.
  18. A creditable draw considering how poor we were for about an hour. When the 4 subs came on it was like someone had flicked a switch. It just emphasises how good our first team players are because our football after that was night and day compared to the rubbish before. Great goal by Stu and we looked the team most likely to get a winner. Now go and beat these in the replay and the Liverpool game is a free hit. However, if we do get through I'd like to see us field a strong side at Anfield and have a right good go at them.
  19. Liverpool away so this doesn't matter now.
  20. Making this very easy for Watford so far for obvious reasons. The side we have out there has no composure or much self belief. The passing and movement is very poor and, when we lose the ball, we do not win it back anything like as quickly as our normal first eleven. I know we have non-regulars playing so that explains a lot. However, none of those given a chance to play are showing any skill or desire to make RM want to pick them for the starting eleven in league games. The likes of Lumley, Dibling, Holgate, Rothwell, Alacaraz, Mara and Melohma have all been pretty poor and they don't appear to be busting a gut to impress the manager. I've said before it won't bother me if we lose today and, unless we make some quick changes, it looks as though we will indeed be concentrating on the league. Very shoddy half of football from us.
  21. I believe you need a funded account with them?
  22. You happened to catch their best spell. Apart from that they were generally fairly poor and their football was not a patch on ours.
  23. Patience!
  24. If we could manage to beat Leicester at their place that reduces to 5 so never say never but It's still a big ask.
  25. Leicester very poor in the second half so a draw was fair. We are a better footballing side than either of these. I think we'll close in on Leicester but may not overtake them. Ipswich are very gutsy and don't give up but they haven't got a lot of quality.
