How is Chris Sutton doing with his FA Cup predictions? The guy embarrassed himself. What a complete tit.

You could clearly hear Lumley shouting and organising his defenders which I always like. On that score I think Baz is a little on the quiet side.
-
Wee Man clearly man of the match, superb all game plus two well taken goals. Meghoma the young left back was excellent, really impressed with him today and looks to have a big future. Dibbling looked very confident and tried hard to get a goal. The young midfielder Bragg came on and got involved and looked very comfortable. Lumley was excellent and very vocal. Charley sloppy in large parts but think he got a couple of assists. Too much walking football for my liking but in the end it was an easy win.

We have been incredibly sloppy in our finishing and misplacing simple passes. We started very well then allowed complacency to set in. Charley has been very poor so far and on this evidence wouldn't get in their side. Mara also - he missed a simple chance and also ignored our young full back on his outside for a simple pass. Smallbone missed an absolute sitter. We should be 3 up but have given them chances. Lumley has been excellent and is very vocal. Need to put this game to bed early in the second half and that will require better concentration and less complacency. This should be a very easy game for us and we've made hard work of it so far.

We ought to win the 5 home games although upsets do happen. The away games are less easier to forecast because currently we are drawing too many - that trend could continue but then again the draws could turn into either defeats or wins because they are often close fought games. I reckon we'll get around 21 points.

It would be very funny if one of the two Championship play-off sides reach the FA Cup Final. I'd enjoy the thought of the FA big wigs rushing around in a blind panic. It won't happen though.

Start with a strong side, get a few in front then sub 4 players on 60 minutes and coast the second half. Easy.

I appreciate the clarification and realise the CoT has to uphold its hard earned reputation of being one of the few trusted sources around. Will try to reign in my impatience for news and look forward to clues and updates as and when available.

I'm sure we'd all have liked a few more away wins but we've had 6 plus 6 draws and only 2 defeats giving us 24 points from 14 games. I reckon that's a pretty good return to be honest.
-
The downside is minimal compared to the shame, disappointment and anger that will be felt if we lose this easy home tie. I'm sure it is not beyond the wit of our manager and coaches to cobble together a side minus a few regulars that will comfortably beat Walsall.

Sat refreshing my computer every few minutes eagerly waiting for news from the CoT. Any little nuggets available guys? Even the rumour of a new tea-lady would be something. Just need a few snippets to keep me going.

Have we signed anyone yet? Day 3 of the window already - time is moving on.

Walsall are sat in 11th position 2 points behind Gillingham. It would be hugely embarrassing to lose to two such mediocre Division 2 sides in the same season so let's not screw this up. I get that we'll rest players and have no issues with that but pick a side to do the job and move on.

I don't think the build up to the goal needed Baz to play his sweeping role - that's more for balls over the top where he starts from a high position. When play builds through the middle he should be working on his angles and, for me, he didn't quite get it right yesterday.
-
Agree, it seemed an odd position and didn't give himself enough time to get down and make a save. Not an obvious howler but a more experienced keeper would probably give himself a better chance of keeping the ball out by being closer to his goal.
-
Agree, he appeared to make sure he gave himself the best chance to get away with what was a horrendous tackle because he knew he couldn't cope with Edozie. Took a measured risk that he'd just receive a yellow card and clearly it worked.

I really enjoyed our play last night, we were superb for much of the game. If you think back we created so many chances from good interplay and were a tad unlucky to only score two quality goals. Because the final score was close I think many are not giving the performance the credit it deserved. If you reflect on our many attempts at goal it feels very satisfying and yes we should have converted more than just the two but for most of the game we put them to the sword. Off the top of my head THB hit the post, Che scuffed a couple of good chances, Arma lobbed from distance just over the bar, Charley hit one that whistled six inches past the post, KWP drew a good save from the keeper, Aribo sent one just wide, Mara had one blocked and Wee Man should score when clean few - there were probably more as well. Plymouth had zero on target until their gifted goal although of course they were unlucky with the one disallowed by the useless lino. Overall I thought we were brilliant especially considering the number of games at this time and the fact that we made changes.

Ipswich could only draw 0-0 at home to QPR 🙂

Agree, Mara is now starting to show what he can do. Looking forward to watching his development as we may have a future star on our hands. He has a lot more self confidence and clearly believes he belongs in the side.
-
Agree, no need to rip into him which is why I suggested RM needs to have a quiet word.
-
No excuses for that even if a ten year old keeper did it. It's not acceptable and RM needs to have a quiet word.
-
Yeah and to be fair he cost us chances in the first half by wrongly flagging. Those in charge need to look at his performance tonight because he was awful.
-
It shouldn't matter how big a lead we had - you do not do that and risk the 3 points which were in the bag at the time. No excuses.
-
It doesn't work like that - we'll never know because if their goal stands the course of the game is altered.
