Well more of a cursory glance to see if they have all their limbs and making sure the player has a pulse judging by some who have slipped though the net.

I'd like to see Ugoghukwu pay alongside Downes to make our midfield stronger and more physical. We need maximum protection for the defence. The Chelsea lad looks very decent on the ball as well as his obvious ability to break up play. Don't see what we gain by playing one or the other. We need two good defensive dms and an attacking one.

Wow! Yes please. Big, powerful, athletic and quick. This guy looks just what we need in midfield and could make a huge difference. Loves a tackle and won't get bullied due to his physique. Carries the ball well and looks to relish a battle which he'll get playing for us. Hope we get this over the line because we haven't had this type of player since maybe Wanyama. Get it done Saints. Exciting news at last.

Lavia?
-
No, he wasted his talent by deciding he wasn't going to bother to play for us.
-
Would be great but I'd be amazed if we keep a clean sheet in this game.

As you say it depends on whether Dragan is willing to fund transfers. Having had his fingers badly burned and being aware of how badly those at the clubs conduct transfers I suspect he'd prefer to keep his hard earned jn his pocket and who could blame him.
-
Hope it's not us. Would be underwhelmed if we sign him.

If you don't add players like Skipp to your midfield you get bullied out of games and are weak - we need someone like him to play alongside Downes. We have too many lightweights who get brushed off the ball and rarely win it back.
-
Yeah, high time it was dropped.
-
Not impressed. If you cloned a player from Djenepo and Redmond this is what you'd get.
-
Only a couple!
-
With our budget we are not going to get the complete attacking midfielder.
-
We were linked with Codi Gapko but we didn't get him.
-
Are we getting a new striker then? First I've heard. We need one but we've been saying that for what seems like eternity.
-
Yeah, even if we wanted him it would be difficult to strike a deal with Burnley after the Nathan Tella saga 🙂
-
No brainer - Josh Brownhill of Burnley. Would be perfect for us.
-
We won't be signing O'Riley because he is way above our price range.
-
Team spirit certainly builds when the side is winning most weeks but can soon fade if the opposite happens.
-
The current squad is not even close to being strong enough to survive the Premier league. We'll be leaking lots of goals at one end and not creating chances or scoring many goals at the other end. We are weak all over the pitch and need a minimum of 4 quality signings/loans which must include a goalkeeper and a striker. plus two midfielders
-
I think we will be putting all our eggs into staying in the Premier League.
-
No thanks.
-
You make good points about the spine of the team - ours is extremely weak and that can only spell problems unless it is fixed pretty quickly.
-
Well their stock is a fair bit higher than ours at the moment and people have been hoping he'd come here so why not Bournemouth.
-
I agree with what you are saying but my issue is that nearly every time we make late signings we are pissing the money up against the wall as proved by the amount of deadwood we can't shift. It gets near deadline day and we panic buy.
