  1. When some berk linked us with Shakira, or whatever his name was.
  2. Blowing a two goal lead at Coventry... Then getting it back! I can only remember us doing that once before in recent times, Hull away in... I'm going to say 06/07?
  3. Leeds was good. Walking up to the stadium wondering what to expect and after about five minutes realising there was only one winner, that was good.
  4. Ha ha, yes, Plymouth, hearing Dave Merrington calmly say 'Get in'.
  5. It's a trending topic on Twitter right now, quite a popular one too. Here's a few of mine... - On the pitch after the Walsall game, we'd gone up, they'd stayed up. We even chanted 'You, are, staying up, say you are staying up!' - All those Bompey fans who had it in for us, we beat them at their place and haven't heard a word since. - Fonte scores the winner at Brighton, leaps over the advertising hoarding, shirt removed, fans surround him. - Brighton with the banners and music taunting Nigel. We won, not a word has been said since. - Forte scores twice, Barnard adds a third and we beat the Franchise. The season was lost and got back in that game. - Eddie Mitchell tells Bompey fans to support us if they don't like things at Dean Court. A woman who loves the sound of her own voice protests in fury. - We sell Oxlade-Chamberlain and wonder how on earth we got so much money for him. - Scaring my parents to death at Sunday lunch as Rickie scores against *them*. House still echoes 'F*CKING HAVE THAT!' - First hearing 'We're coming for you...'.
  6. I think most of the team do live in Chilworth, if not then they're in Ocean Village.
  7. I really hope this isn't too bad. Before the West Ham game I was in the press room at SMS and a journo said he had heard Lambert was injured in a warm-up and would miss the game. The West Ham media people suddenly had wide smiles on their faces. I texted a West Ham fan I knew to tell her and she immediately announced 'oh we're going to win now'. Not a word of a lie. The guy strikes fear into the opposition, or at least people around the team. If we lose him, it'll be a blow to say the least. So I repeat - here's hoping it's not too bad.
  8. Was Jermaine Wright a scapegoat or was he genuinely ****? For that matter, what was Jason Euell?
  9. D'Urso did AFC Wimbledon v Oxford yesterday and he's had nothing but criticism from both fans and the press.
  10. Yep. You'll have to get used to it I'm afraid. Sadly the numbers of legal sales of the game are high and so they've no intention of dropping Steam as long as that remains the case.
  11. Have to say, he has the same build and is the same height as I remember. Hair is spiky. It's all hearsay though, could have been absolutely anyone, but I know what I saw! Apologies to wireframebox for hijacking the thread.
  12. Both fair points. If I had to put my finger on why Lallana doesn't get as much stick, it's because he genuinely looks up for it whereas Guly doesn't help himself with negative body language. As for picking on a player that's scoring goals, as I said, I'm very pleased he scored twice, the real test is if he keeps it up.
  13. Unlucky. I only go to home games. He's one of these players that either has a two or three out of ten or an eight or nine. No middle ground really. Again, I can only get to home games, some of them he chips in with goals and you have to salute that, other times he's making the easy things look bloody difficult. Oh do me a favour - that's a load of absolute ********. The guy is inconsistent, there should be no problem in pointing that out. If he scores goals, brilliant. If he chips in with an assist or two, great. If he plays well, I'll say so. When he's jumping in the air with his limbs flailing wildly when trying to control the ball and it goes straight to a defender, which then causes him to have the body language of a sulking child and goes missing, I'll say so then as well. Saying a fan wants a player to fail is a bogus line for someone who doesn't want to accept someone has a different opinion to them. Exactly.
  14. Ah Josh Kennedy. That name takes me back. FM2010 with Nagoya Grampus Eight. I used to sell him, always got about £2m plus. For some reason the Swiss clubs were lining up for him.
  15. I'm pleased he got the goals today, that's good. Control was much better today, no star jumps, used his chest to effectively ping the ball back to Cork a few times. Still offside a lot though, and doesn't make a great effort to run back from offside positions. I think he was helped a lot by their defence not knowing how to play an offside trap - the amount of times they shouted and appealed for offside and it wasn't remotely offside was ridiculous. However, do any of us honestly think he'll put in a decent performance like that away from home? Got to say I'm doubtful.
  16. They were bloody everywhere it has to be said.
  17. Doubt Nigel knew much about him - these days managers just sign who the scouts and board tell them they've seen. Agree on credit where its due though, he's a great defender and a great bloke too.
  18. They might well do that. I saw three trucks carrying the new lights after a game a few weeks ago (forget which one it was), so maybe they installed the other half of the artificial turf after tonight's game. You never know. One other observation, they've got a big 'together we stand' thing like you see around town in the tunnel now. I say now, it was done a while back, I just hadn't thought to mention it.
  19. Hmm, he's 30 according to my best Googling, this guy looked early 20s. Without wishing to go through the whole 'ear lobes' debate which I sparked a few years back, this guy had spiky hair. From what I can see on Google, Mr. Maeda prefers the longer barnet. We have been scouting in asia though, that is for certain. A few months ago I spoke to a kid playing in Hong Kong who was scouted by Saints, he said at the time he was waiting to talk to someone from the academy about a potential move when he's older. Chelsea had been sniffing around too.
  20. He's brilliant. Love the way he'll man mark someone then step off, stealing a yard from them to intercept and calmly play it out of danger. He had Murray in his pocket today.
  21. A few weeks ago we had the improvement of the 'grow faster lights' being brought in, now the club have decided to invest in some artificial turf for the perimeter of the pitch. It's been installed around half of the pitch, stretching from the Chapel to the Itchen, which means linesmen will have a better surface to run up and down and substitutes can warm up without getting their boots dirty. It's the type that has the black plastic or rubber bits that go everywhere. Apparently it's a high grade of artificial turf, but I know sod all about it to be quite honest. Just thought you'd all like to know!
  22. When did I agree that it was Mike Havenaar? I believe I was following on from kpturner who said "seems unlikely it was this geezer though".
  23. Nigel added after the interview had finished that he has strained his knee ligaments, in case that wasn't clear to some.
  24. As I have said before, a month ago, maybe two, I did see an asian man, suited and booted, being shown around on a match day before kick-off. He posed for a photograph with Nigel Adkins at the end of the tunnel too. He may well have been signed and put in the development side, who knows.
  25. I can tell you he was wearing a Hugo Boss pullover today. No word of a lie. Stylish fella.
