It was Mussolini who get the trains to run on time. And they were both evil, murdering cvnts. Not sure the analogy is that great ...
-
Ok, I have said for some time that 38 points would be enough and I think this will turn out to be correct. Sorry Dalek.
-
We only need 3 points if there's a 12 goal swing. Which won't happen. And Wigan won't beat arsenal. And we won't be relegated. And we will get 3 more points anyway.
-
So, does anyone think we are safe?
-
I was just going to say 'well, yes ...' I think you put it a lot better.
-
No, not at all. Somebody said that Harry was stupid for targeting 37 points for safety as that would still have sent them down. Somebody said it might be enough still ... And i was just clarifying how it wouldn't, the best place 37 points will now get is 18th, and therefore relegated. I'm confused as to why this I'd difficult to understand.
-
I think the point is that 17 other clubs have more than 37 points, so if qpr made 37 they'd still be down.
-
I told you a while ago 38 would be safe. Mad? I like to call it correct.
-
Newcastle can't win away and are under real pressure knowing its their last real opportunity for points and I think qpr will want to put in a performance on their last home game. Just a feeling.

I got Marouane Fellaini. I seriously look nothing like him. Still, I put in a photo of a monkey and got bale so there must be something in it.

Ok, here goes. Fulham, villa and newcastle all to lose both theirs, and Norwich either 1 or 3 points next week and nothing on the final day. I don't like predicting saints scores so I don't really have a clue for Sunderland and stoke. Could see stoke spoiling the game on Monday but I would expect a reaction from di Canio. Will be interesting for sure. As for Wigan, was not expecting that result today but they could get any result on Tuesday and will lose to arsenal. And then I have them down as beating villa on the last day, but if they get thumped in the cup final and need a win with low morale and a depleted squad (2 injuries today) who knows. I'm going with 4 points in total, but anywhere between 0 and 6 is quite possible.

André Villas-Boas rates Southampton youth set-up as good as Barcelona
Chewy replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Behave, Walcott and ox would walk into most premier league teams, including ours, and bale would walk into most champions league teams. We have a very good youth set up, pretty much always have in my lifetime (Williams, Moran, the wallaces, shearer, mlt) and its been through a purple patch of late. West ham have also historically had an excellent youth set up, and had a purple patch 15 years ago; it's not produced anything really special for a little while though. Another good one right now is palace - Moses, Saha, Clyne and there's a couple more. Most of the gig clubs have good set ups too, including citeh long before the money. Forest used to be great years ago too (Webb, hodge, walker etc) but god knows what happened there of late. There, a balanced assssment. Why everything on here descends into an argument is beyond me, especially when the starting point was another managers positive comment. -
Astonishing to be so complacent when the stats say we are about 1 in 200 (or was it 500) to go down. I find it astonishing that some peopl choose to air their mental opinions so publicly but there you go. 38 points will still be safe Dalek.

We signed messi in February but had to keep it quiet. That's obviously why he's pretending to be injured and on the bench.

Mauricio Pochettino: The Argentine at Southampton with big plans
Chewy replied to thornhill_saints's topic in The Saints
Guess astori is one of them. -
Been in the sun all day ... There's so much gibberish on here its hard to keep track on who's serious and who isn't!

You'd just about settle for 10th? How many times have we been a top flight top ten club in the last 25 years? I'm completely underwhelmed at one of our best ever finishes post lawrie mac. Especially in our first season back in the top flight. Really disappointing ...
-
14th with 2 more points.
-
No need to pray - just can't see that Wigan will win their next 2 (starting with west brom awAy), the toon will win away to west ham, Sunderland win away at stoke and villa win at Norwich. Each one of those is unlikely, all happening together is just utterly improbable. Saints winning or drawing at spurs is far more likely than this domesday scenario. And having sweated through many run ins myself, i can safely say I've felt massively less comfortable in the past and we've ended up safe on all but one occasion (in my lifetime ... Actually twice including the drop to league one, but I meant from the top flight)
-
I predict not one of those points totals will be correct.
-
Probably not the best morning to say this, but don't barca play in stripes? And the three big italian sides?? Like most I crave the early 80s version though
-
And until the west brom game we hadn't lost in 6, so why so sure were going to lose the next 2? Get a grip.
-
Each one on its own not fantastically far fetched (though Wigan getting 8 from the next 4, including Arsenal away having got 2 from the last 4 is borderline). But all of the above happening altogether, along with us losing all 3? Yep, I'd say far fetched. And the way Newcastle are playing? I wouldn't be too sure about that result either.

For what exactly?

An optimists perspective on Doom and Gloom
Chewy replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
You've forgotten Norwich who need to lose to villa to help them overtake us, and will lose to city on the last day, so have to beat west brom in their only other game.
