  1. Agreed. Thick as f**k is much of our travelling support.
  2. The earliest that they have budgeted to pay off their footballing debts is Xmas 2015. They don't expect to actually expect to actually do it until Summer 2016. They cannot buy a player until those debts are paid. Those dates have been confirmed by PST board members and reported by #factless.
  3. What the f**k has that got to do with the valid point that we are playing our 3rd choice keeper?
  4. Why have people got a stick up their a**e about May Day holiday? It dates back centuries. You could argue that it's the most traditionally English holiday of them all.
  5. MP gets more right than he gets wrong.
  6. Anyone who doesn't think that a point against City and a point at Newcastle, coming from behind both times, aren't excellent result clearly knows f**k all about football.
  7. On the train home and delighted with a point. Thought 2nd half that we were excellent. Can understand why he started with the system he did (thought leaving Lallana out was nuts myself) but fair play to the manager for changing it at the break. The lad has SD as MOTM; Cork for me.
  8. If you read Bevor's excellent Normandy I think he actually mentions the unit. I would go to look myself but I'm on the train to Newcastle.
  9. I don't disagree.
  10. The linage isn't in question. However, to suggest that England, south of the Danelaw line wasn't Anglo-Saxon is just plain wrong.
  11. I just relieved to find out that Saxon England was actually liberated by William of Normandy and not actually Conquered after all.
  12. I would recommend a trip to Normandy to any buff. Yes do the beaches, but go and explore the battlefields around Caen and onto Falaise. It's such a small space, very quiet and very absorbing.
  13. Typical clueless UKIP voter.
  14. Decent prices. Still won't be bothering though.
  15. As I posted earlier, considering how patriotic he is his grasp of English history is shockingly poor.
  16. They do it every 23rd of April where I live and the Sunday before we go to biggest St Georges day parade in England in one of the most ethnically diverse parts of the UK, paid for in part by a "Liberal" Labour council. I'd sooner have Trafalgar Day as a national holiday than some foreign fella who never laid foot in England if we cannot have the feast day of our true patron saint.
  17. St George isn't even our real patron saint, he was imposed upon us. For folk so proud of our fine nation you seem to know little of its history.
  18. You can see why they had no fear of the Tommy Cooker.
  19. This Tiger broke down at Vimoutiers after aiding the breakout from Falaise and there it has stayed.
  20. In Normandy they were referred to as Tommy Cookers.
  21. Panther. Awesome machine.
  22. If debating Wehrmacht armoured divisions compared to 1941 Soviet divisions it should be mentioned that German divisions had an excellent mix of tanks/mounted infantry and anti tank capabilities as well as the Luftwaffe. Something the Soviets did really manage until Spring 1943 and even then it perhaps still wasn't as good as the Germans. Wehrmacht units, as well as SS, were excellent at playing the hull down role and inviting the Red Army on to them. Soviets really did suss that out until Kursk. Man for man, officer for officer, equipment for equipment, German forces were superior to the Soviets right up to the bitter end. What they didn't have was vast numbers or a war machine unhindered by bombing or a war on two fronts.
  23. There is no "disputed evidence" as there is no evidence at all. I would imagine scholars like Hastings and Bevor might well have mentioned it if it existed, which it doesn't. My native German history professor, you'd have thought, may of mentioned it in passing as I wrote my 10,000 word dissertation on WW2.
