Fair point but we all know that politicians, of all shades, use the experts and reports that support the position they wish to take. We now import the vast majority of our coal and gas making us hostage to others. An insane position for an island of coal.

Of course, it had nothing to do with the Dash For Gas and the newly privatised British Gas. Remember that it would supply all our energy for at least 100 years and we'd have no need to import anything. That worked out well.
