  1. 1D previously and Katie Perry to come. Thankfully the lad loves football, cricket and the same music as me so I get to retain my sanity.
  2. You need to leave off the crystal meth mush if you think that's the case.
  3. Tedious troll.
  4. Whilst I have no sympathy at all for the fella in question, experience has taught me to never, ever, trust the OBs version of events.
  5. We overpay monthly and if will have effectively knocked 8 years off our mortgage and that includes a mortgage holiday when I had a 7.5month queens holiday! We will be mortgage free in a few years.
  6. Origins of the Second World War is the most important book of the genre, ever. I also recommend Keegan.
  7. AJP Taylor is THE book.
  8. Liverpool is certainly worth a visit & is a cracking night out.
  9. &, in passing, I'm off again to Ypres, Messines, Wytschaete & Ploegsteert next month. If you ever get the chance to visit, do so.
  10. Pap, you're a good lad, but I think the best tombs on the subject have the topic nailed.
  11. Outside of the metropolitan areas there is, thankfully, loads of space.
  12. Umm. No.
  13. There are so many brownfield sites that should be built on. I except the SE is struggling but there is plenty of room in the rest of the country, we certainly aren't bursting (not that I want anymore immigration myself)
  14. Whilst we are Gove bashing let's not forget that the those officers who served in the trenches, usually public school types, also paid the ultimate price in huge numbers. It's the HQ types that deserve the condemnation, not officers in general.
  15. Anyone with a brain, not just a tory, should be against it. This, to me, is where the ***** up of the Right To Buy comes home to roost. If they money from sales had been re-invested in building more quality affordable / social housing on an ongoing basis the housing bubble(s) could be avoided and also private rents wouldn't be so shockingly high. All, of course, IMHO.
  16. Gave the keeper (and most of us) the eyes before whipping it in the other side. Was an excellent chaotic terrace bundle as well.
  17. We want a big nice house and we want it now, now, now. We want the government to pay for it as we don't want to save as we still want to do all the things we do. Waaaahhhhh. life is so unfair.
  18. So we think it's OK for the government to interfere in the market now? Why should the government help those incapable of saving themselves? They should just move to areas they can afford instead if being bailed out. Scrounging bas*ards.
  19. 3 spring to mind. Barnard against MK, Fonte against BHA and SRL against Millwall.
  20. I'm using Corky Morris's STs and taking my youngest (6) to her first game; Mrs is coming too!
  21. +1.
  22. If I were entering the final few year of my career and someone offered me a 100% pay rise and a fat signing on fee, no matter how happy I was at the time, I'd take it knowing that it would set my family up for life.
  23. Fair point but we all know that politicians, of all shades, use the experts and reports that support the position they wish to take. We now import the vast majority of our coal and gas making us hostage to others. An insane position for an island of coal.
  24. Of course, it had nothing to do with the Dash For Gas and the newly privatised British Gas. Remember that it would supply all our energy for at least 100 years and we'd have no need to import anything. That worked out well.
  25. In the interview I watched last night he was asked, quite simply, if there was a plan to close 70 pits. He said no. That was a blatant lie, supported by the government of the day.
