  1. He looked really hacked off at the end. Would have loved a clean sheet but never mind.
  2. Also what does it have to do with our club? I doubt anyone knew Enke personally so to me any sort of gesture would seem hollow.
  3. FWIW I agree with you. That doesn't mean I believe that it's all rubbish like Saint George does. Dismissing it completely would be incredibly foolish.
  4. Seems to me that both of those gestures would be an odd thing to do.
  5. The time you've spent racking up over 9,000 posts, I've been watching tv
  6. A family friend's grandad was 95 when his wife of 70 odd years died. He was basically infirm and couldn't face a life of being alone. Without having the mobility to find other ways to kill himself, he got a kitchen knife and stabbed himself in the heart. His suicide note said what a great life he had had but he couldn't live anymore without his wife. Now his family don't think he was in any way selfish. What do you think?
  7. Tvfreeload.com means i can watch them when they come out
  8. Probably does play a part in some cases TBH.
  9. And I've just read the link you gave. Seems there is strong evidence to suggest that he has a mental illness. his lawyer has said he is a "matyr for everything that is wrong with the death penalty." whilst brain scans have suggested he could have schizophrenia.
  10. I think you are missing my point. I don't believe that anyone has the right to end another persons life. The crime that someone has committed is irrelevant.
  11. What's so bad about it? Apart from the hanging animals maybe.
  12. First rule overrules second.
  13. I love dexter. The newest series is brilliant at the moment.
  14. I suppose. The press is the main culprit in all this.
  15. If you were a loner in a shack it wouldn't be selfish. Just messing though. It's late and I'm tired.
  16. I was having the exact same debate with my dad. I was just wondering if people are literally born attracted to children in the same way that people are born heterosexual, gay or some people attracted to post boxes etc. If you look at it from the perspective, I wondered if there are people living their lives but also attracted to children really through no fault of their own who never act on their impulses. For people who cross the line, I would favour chemical castration since it would remove the impulse. My Dad added that clearly everyone knows that paedophilia is wrong, so in order to be able to act on any impulse, a paedophile has to take the humanity out of it and see the child as an object rather than an actual person. I ended by wondering whether that woman who was prosecuted at the Plymouth nursery was technically a paedophile since she was acting on behalf of someone else. Anyway I found it interesting.
  17. What about if you had no living relatives and you jumped off a cliff?
  18. TBH I think it's pretty good that they get a handwritten letter from the PM. So ****ing what if there were a few spelling errors and mistakes. It's not like it was done intentionally and as people have pointed out, he didn't actually have to write anything himself. To bleat about it in the press afterwards as if he didn't care is very harsh IMO.
  19. TBF he was adopted which I don't think you can ever feel the same about than your own flesh and blood. I would never call him selfish. I don't think you can really pass judgement on it unless you have actually lost a child. Poor bloke I feel really sorry for him.
  20. I'm agreeing with you a lot recently. Now if you'll just admit that the Lisbon treaty is evil...
  21. I totally agree. I mean who actually cares? Is it really that much of an issue?
  22. Am I the only one who likes House?
  23. Well clearly I cannot be 100% sure what my reaction would be but looking at it now, I wouldn't want him or her put to death. What would it achieve?
  24. I just believe that fundamentally no one has the right to take someone elses life, no matter what they've done.
  25. Maybe there is just a load of pain when you die though without all the God stuff. No one can really say for sure what there is.
