  1. Some truth? I think it's clear that it was a ridiculous overreaction. Oh and "unconscious bias" is a load of flim flam that has been comprehensively debunked. It's bollocks basically. Britain is not institutionally racist and the vast majority of brits are appalled by overt forms of racism and would like to see it be harshly dealt with.
  2. I'm not too worried considering the money we got but I am a bit worried now about relegation this year. Looking at our team we have a poor goalkeeper, bednarek isn't great, vestergaard may or may not be here and then the new guy at lb is unproven. We're light in cm if romeu doesn't play every game and our wingers are inconsistent. Armstrong is good but there's a hell of a lot of average players in and around our team and that's before you look at the bench. I think Delaney would be a good signing for some experience.
  3. Nothing really surprises me with saints and I did expect him to go earlier this summer. I'm surprised it's been left this late but I expect they came in with massive wages and he said he wanted to go. I just hope we have enough about us to stay up. We certainly need more strength in depth now that we have a bit of cash. A striker, a dm and a full back are minimum requirements.
  4. I really can't see us selling jwp as well. Stranger things have happened but it would be a surprise.
  5. Well he's not wrong.
  6. Wtf was that?
  7. Exactly. I can absolutely understand why some people would be supportive of taking the knee even if I disagree. There's too many people on the other side though who want to use vile abuse against someone who doesn't support it and make all sorts of accusations without even wanting to discuss it. Sadly this is just one of so many issues where this tactic is used. It's very sad.
  8. You're aware of the arguments of every person who has booed? I would say your previous caricature of their opinion was pretty much the least charitable interpretation of it and suggests that you had already made your mind up without talking to anyone with a different opinion to you.
  9. And of course you widen the definition of "intolerant" to be those who disagree with you so it's then fine to be abusive and unpleasant to people and you caricature their responses so you can dismiss them as thick idiots. Classic tactic.
  10. You're a charming individual full of kindness and tolerance for others.
  11. If you are actively against the gesture and object to its presence at the football that you've spent your hard earned money on then there aren't many other options left to you to express your displeasure other than booing. I haven't booed by the way and am happy to ignore it but if that's how people want to show their dissatisfaction then more power to them. If people thinks that makes them racist then that says more about them to be honest and their desperate need to slap derogatory terms in people that they disagree with.
  12. Because they dislike the gesture and don't support it. Simple.
  13. Good Post. Everyone knows what you say is true, even those who try to pretend it isn't the case.
  14. You could stick Ings in a dress before kickoff too TBF.
  15. I've made my prediction. At some point they will need a plan for a graceful retreat. There will be a new organisation set up led by the likes of Mings, Rashford, Henderson and their PR agencies with a catchy name like Take The Knee Inc lobbying for more black people on the FA board and more black managers. They'll probably get a diversity officer in like June Sarpong on £250k a year to tell the FA where they're going wrong. Once that's up and running they can call taking the knee a success and stop it whilst claiming victory. Mark my words.
  16. Gaston ramirez.
  17. Neither of those two things will do anything to "end racism." Besides, I've said on a number of occasions that I've never booed any players but that I support the right of supporters who pay to go to matches to do so. I don't need to go over the circular arguments about the knee again as its been done to death but I would be interested to know what individuals should be doing to "end racism." If everyone did what you suggested and was fully supportive of the knee it still wouldn't end racism so you're incorrect to suggest that my support for the knee would make any difference at all.
  18. Seek help.
  19. What more should I do to make sure there isn't racism in the world? It's an idealistic fantasy world ti pretend that racism is going to be eliminated. It's like saying we are going to protest against physical violence until all physical violence is eliminated. It's absurd.
  20. So virtually every white person that encountered a black person prior to 1900 was a racist then?
  21. I don't think it will. I think eventually people will just ignore it. Some lower league clubs there will be some booing and maybe some banning orders, the media will hype up the boos and call all the fans racist but ultimately they will keep going for a while until mings, Rashford and their PR company come out with a new organisation for black quotas on the FA board and in management and then they will announce that the kneeling has been a great success and they can stop it now.
  22. Well if its on Channel Five then I doubt anyone will question its credibility. In all seriousness though, you can't simply look back in history and then apply societal norms and values onto figures from a different time. By that logic virtually every single person in England who encountered a black person before 1900 was a racist and should be condemned. It's childish and foolish. Yes there were things said and done a generation ago that would be considered racist now but it needs to be set in the proper context of the time. There may be things that aintforever does now that in 20 years would be deemed unacceptably racist. Should he be branded a racist in the future if that is the case?
  23. Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh were filthy racists.
  24. That doesn't mean you were racist, simply that societal norms have changed from 50 years ago.
  25. Exactly. They can't stop now or the racists win. There is no acceptable time to stop kneeling.
