But objecting to the gesture of taking the knee is not the same as disbelieving that racism is a problem. You're incorrectly conflating two separate issues.
-
If that's all you were saying then why did you start going on about posters disbelieving black people who thought that racism was a problem?
-
The type of person who if loads of black people moved into his street would be upset and probably move out.
-
My half Asian mate sent me that picture today and made a ricky Gervais ho Lee fook reference. He thought it was funny.
-
What makes me chuckle when soggy tries to lecture everyone about racism is thinking about one of my mates from the Cameroon who I know would disagree strongly with everything he's said because he bloody loves this country. Imagining him in conversation with him and seeing his head explode makes me smile.
-
In the real world literally no one talks about this. My friendship group has all sorts of ethnicities and races in it and they're embarrassed by most of the black lives matter stuff the consensus is that it's divisive and a net negative for the country. We barely discuss it though because 99% of our discussions are about football, beer, holidays, families and taking the piss out of each other like most group of mates. All those people fixated on racial relations and looking for problems all the time are the problem. If I went and asked them about racism then I expect they would say something like with so much going on in life with children, jobs and relationships etc who on Earth has the time to get hung on something as insignificant as skin colour?

The point is that the subjective experiences of a black person or even a group of black people does not mean that that experience is now representative of all BAME people in the UK. It's incredibly unfortunate that supersonic and his family has had some lowlifes be racist towards them but I know a couple of Black people who I have had this conversation with who have had the opposite experience. Supersonic's horrible experiences aren't proof of systemic racism in the same way that my friend's positive experiences are not total proof that it doesn't exist. Using your own subjective experiences and then simply asserting something and citing flawed Guardian articles as sources doesn't make something true.

The best bit is when he responds to a post which is a reply to one of my posts and then talks about me without addressing me directly because he's pretending to have me on ignore. I didn't bother reading all of his post because I can imagine it drones on about the far right people on here and presenting his racially divisive view of the world as being the majority view rather than a very small minority.

Has anyone claimed that racism isn't a problem?
-
That's fine then if its just about belief that racism happens. When it's something like every institution in the country being systemically racist then I'm not just going to simply listen and believe someone that asserts what I know to be a falsehood because it has a fundamental impact on the society I live in (and particularly when you've got plenty of BAME people that disagree.)
-
What about the BAME people who disagree?
-
It's not about a bollocking necessarily. There's plenty of influential players on the pitch who wouldn't stand for a 9-0 performance, let alone two.
-
Yep. If there was a mad billionaire newly in charge of a smaller club (hypothetically if Newcastle had been taken over) then that's the sort of signing I'd expect them to make. Otherwise he's not good enough for a big team and too expensive for someone like Everton.
-
I agree. We've had this sort of thing before where we're linked to dross and then get someone no one else has mentioned. My money is on a decent youngster from a bigger club.
-
I don't see why someone would buy jwp. He would cost I expect close to 50 million and for that amount you'd want virtually the complete package. Jwp is a phenomenal free kick taker and incredibly fit but he isn't that influential of the pitch. Worth remembering that he was captain during some absolutely hideous performances. You wouldn't imagine someone like Roy Keane standing for something like that.

I think vestergaard will go this summer. My prediction is vestergaard out, one maybe two strikers in and a replacement CB.
-
He's under contract. I'd expect us to play hard ball if he's actually unsettled. No evidence yet though and he strikes me as the sort of person that would be professional.
-
I may be wrong but I would think the club would know that. Jwp will be off next summer in my opinion.
-
Agreed. He's seriously lacking in the mental department more than anything else.
-
I think it's great that we were so successful. I'd prefer that no one made an ossie out of the skin colour though because it just encourages divisive identity politics from both sides (which is why you saw some white nationalists celebrating that the white Italian team beat England at the euros.)

There's some footballers who receive racist abuse on social media, the majority of which comes from abroad. Many people receive all sorts of vile abuse on social media, much of which is personal and disgusting and it should be dealt with. The media clearly have an ulterior motive to exaggerate the problem for sensationalist headlines. The results of racist abuse from the euros showed the extent of the problem. Oh and please stop saying that you're "pointing out that racism exists". You're not doing that, you're saying that virtually every institution in the country is systemically racist which is something entirely different. No one would deny or argue with anyone if they merely pointed out the obvious fact that racism exists.
-
That's fine but we need quality for the ibgs replacement before we do that.
-
Your claims that every institution in Britain is institutionally racist is complete bollocks. I can't speak to your individual experiences of racism. Undoubtedly racism exists as I've already said. I've no doubt you've experienced some racism from saints fans and others. Unfortunately there will always be a section of the population that are prejudiced against someone due to their skin colour and where these people commit racist acts they should be and are harshly dealt with. The existence of racism is a truth that has never been denied on here ever. I'm married to a mixed race woman who has experienced racism herself and we both believe that despite this that Britain is one of the most tolerant and accepting nations on planet Earth (which it is). White privilege is a load of crap too so you're right on that one!
-
I'm sorry but it's difficult to have a discussion with someone whose view of the world differs so drastically from reality. You're clearly a fantasist desperate to see racism around every corner. Your claims are laughable and the fact you cite the guardian who spouts the same woke bollocks and then use the quote I've already mentioned as some sort of proof that all institutions admit they are racist speaks for itself: “If other people think we are institutionally racist, then we are. It’s no good me saying we’re not and saying you must believe me. [That would be] a nonsense, if they believe that.”
-
Why are you making things up? Just because you've googled institutional racism and found some quotes of someone saying they can't argue with the charge if someone says they are or a representative of a woke learning institution doesn't make your claims valid. You and the rest of the nasty critical race theory crowd are the problem I'm afraid.
