His signing means we now have options off the bench that can change the game. Whether he starts or is beefing up the bench, he's a decent signing and I hope we make it permenent. Miles better than long for a start.

How dare britt assombalonga display his internalised racism so publically. Imagine suggesting that black lives matter is in some way linked with Black Lives Matter. Someone needs to have a quiet word and tell him that he needs to just keep his head down and take a knee. In all seriousness though, it's obvious that more clubs will start dropping it now or distancing themselves from black lives matter because they will be scared about the crowd reactions once everyone is back. The only reason they've got away with it for so long is because there have been empty stadiums so they can push their woke gestures unopposed and pretend that everyone supported it.

I saw that. Prime example of the narcissism of people like this. He wants to be this generations MLK ffs...
-
Hold on? How can Neil say that taking the knee is political? What a scandal the Boro players agreeing with the thick racists at Millwall.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2025-26

We expected him to leave last January, for definite. -
I think that some people view unequal outcomes as an example of some sort of structural racism rather than looking at the reality. I think British black people have been heavily influenced by American media and the Internet and have exported some very real American issues over here - hence the taking of the knee. I think a percentage of people believe what they are told to believe and don't look at something being the very surface level (that's true of both sides.) I think another percentage have had some examples of actual racism in their lives and want to do something about it. Personally I think this campaign has been more divisive than constructive and won't help prevent any future racist incidents.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2025-26

Which bit? Not sure about the signing bit but the second bit is definitely true -
Yes you do. By you I mean society of course. The alternative is that any demographic can retroactively decide they find something offensive and call someone a racist which is clearly insane.
-
Yep and the sad thing is that they will use that division that they invented to justify their continued existence. Insidious.
-
This is the type of game we will definitely lose. Time to see if its typical saints or not.

Severe allergic reaction. Both reactions were from people who carry epi pens. This form of the vaccine won't be going to that many anyway.
-
Or perhaps they were booing the taking of the knee which they viewed as supporting the organisation (as the supporters group pointed out) and didn't actually have an issue with something anti racist like kick it out? Is there any other recent examples of Millwall fans reacting negatively to an anti racist initiative that isn't linked to black lives matter? Because I know what I think is the most likely scenario.
-
Don't worry I agree with you that it's ridiculous, I'm just trying to see it from the other point of view. Clearly the bloke was miffed at being sent off so responded to the red card with a card of his own.
-
I find it odd that not a single person on here who were calling Millwall fans thick and racist have tried to explain why there was no booing at the anti racist activities yesterday but there was at the taking of the knee. It's been completely ignored.
-
"the black one" could be seen as derogatory in certain contexts.
-
I disagree with most of what you've said here but i appreciate the civility you have used to express yourself and the general tone of your post. I won't respond in detail as you've said you don't want to have arguments.
-
1000 times this. In hindsight the bloke could have said something else but with a tiny bit of common sense it's clear that no offence was intended and as you say making a song and dance out of something like this does more harm than good.
-
Wow. White privilege in action folks.
-
And if that is the case that he accused him of racism because he was mad about the red card, then it proves the lunacy of allowing racism to solely be identified by any black person and unable to be challenged by anyone else.
-
Why are you attempting to silence the voice of Micah Richards- a proud person of colour? Seems you'd rather prioritise your own white voice and tell Micah how he should think. That seems a bit racist to me...
-
Micah Richards said it wasn't racist. Why is Sydney Saint allowing white pundits in the media to determine what is and isn't racist and silencing a black voice?
-
You mentioned that he could have mentioned his proximity to someone else (not particularly practical) called him by his name- that he may not have known- or used his number (that he didn't have). Without mentioning a physical characteristic it would have taken a lot longer for him to be identified.
-
I think he's a bit embarrassed that he got it wrong and would prefer to lash out rather than just hold his hands up and admit he hadn't read past the headline...
-
So you realised your error yes?
-
I find it interesting that it always seems to be the people on one side of this debate who want to leap to calling the other side thick. Like someone else mentioned, it's very similar to the brexit debate. Him not agreeing with you or giving an honest opinion doesn't mean he's taking the piss or that he's an idiot.
