Not really sure you speak for all females though. What you describe isn't anything like what the women I speak to go through. I just asked my fiancee and she doesn't feel disrespected by men all the time. I expect if I asked the women I employ they would say similar. As someone said earlier maybe it's just where you live?
-
Yet you got all lairy earlier because you said we weren't showing any desire to want to empathise with your point of view? And in regards to your it's a football forum comment- it's a football crowd making comments about tits, what did you expect?
-
Should have just got it over with early doors. Would have diffused the tension.
-
That's an utter disgrace. I'll be offended on your behalf. Sexism is just everywhere these days.
-
Surely you should feel demeaned and insulted by the blatant Sexism on display?
-
Pretty sure everyone has said the personal stuff from that one bloke was unacceptable.
-
And how do we differentiate between abuse and a bit of banter from the crowd? Should we be singing songs such as "this towns a sh*thole" for example or about shooting pompey scum for fear of offending them? To my mind, singing about kicking a pompey fans head in is infinitely worse than singing get your tits out.

I KNEW what Andy would post before I even opened the thread. Of course young Andy, sexism is EVERYWHERE.
-
To be honest I'm pretty exasperated by your fervent desire to make out that this problem is something bigger than a few idiots in a football crowd.
-
Yep not nice. The vast vast majority know where the line is but clearly one idiot doesn't here.
-
And when that article sensationalises the problem with lines like this then they lose credibility imo: Sexist discrimination countlessly occurs every twenty-four hours, and most of the time it unfortunately goes unnoticed.
-
As I already explained, I have no problem with the tits chant for the reason already specified. I didn't hear the gooner chant tbf which I agree should not be chanted. Again though it sounded to me like a small number but a chant of that nature should not be sung I agree. I don't think it's a widespread problem though, I haven't seen any evidence that it is other than the tits chant.
-
Don't think anyone dismissed it as banter. Most people said it was either one or two idiots OR banter. What that ONE bloke says is clearly unacceptable but it isn't the entire stand, it's the action of one mindless idiot.

Who was president?

I don't think any immigrants are to blame. If I were in their shoes I would do the same thing. It's the system that is at fault.
-
Nope still wouldn't care. I was not tend to get offended and certainly wouldn't if a bunch of people in a crowd who don't know me started a chant at the football about me.
-
I don't think chanting get your t*ts out for the lads within a football environment is wrong. I also don't equate it in any way with racism. It's pretty unoriginal so I probably wouldn't chant it myself.
-
Help me to understand the opposite perspective then Lou. We agree that respect has to be earned and that glamour mag photos may make some men lose some respect for those women so what are you disagreeing with here?
-
Well yes in that way I respect the likes of Jordan very much.
-
When a lot of men get together in a tribal environment and have a few beers with their mates, they tend to regress and do stupid things. Sometimes at the football this will include behaviour such as being boisterous, immature chanting at a number of different groups like the referee, fat fans in the stands, idiot fans in the stands, "hardman" routines, winding up the opposition etc etc. This has always been part of football and for many people it's the main reason they attend. I don't think you will ever be able to get rid of that element within football and for a lot of people it would make the atmosphere suffer even further.
-
I presume you will be supporting this stance by rocking up to Sainsburys this afternoon with your todger out?
-
I think perhaps you just can' understand it because you don't think in the same way. My suspicion is that 99% of the men reading this would think the same way as me even if they don't admit it. Happy to put my hands up if proven wrong though. Personally I think women who work in football and pose in glamour mags (and even ones that don't.) will just have to accept that on some occasions they might get a few chants aimed in their direction. Unless we are talking people being banned from stadiums for singing "get your tits out for the lads" which IMO would be a ridiculous overreaction. If someone- be they male or female- is too delicate to handle a few chants in their direction ("slapper in the pink" "you fat b*stard" etc) then they shouldn't be working or attending football. That isn't to say that there isn't a line but IMO the vast majority know where that line is.
-
I like sex but I wouldn't want my relatives or my daughter if I ever have one to pose in a glamour mag. I don't gain respect for porn stars for example. Pondlife like Jordan don't gain my respect because she has made a living out of getting her surgically enhanced baps out at every opportunity. I work almost solely with women on a daily basis and I respect those who do their job well and who contribute to life and society. My respect for them isn't going to increase if I found out one of them was in a glamour magazine.
-
Well tbf if he moves to a massive club then he is pretty much guaranteed to win a trophy. I think what someone means by that is he deserves to be somewhere with other world class players where he will win multiple trophies. That probably isn't going to happen here sadly so I would be inclined to agree
-
IMO if you are sexualising yourself in a glamour mag then you shouldn't be that surprised when lads in a pack environment at the football after a few beers sing chants to you about getting your tits out. I'm not going to gain respect for someone who poses barely clothes in a magazine which lets be honest is almost solely for the sexual gratification of men. It's people coming into an environment where they know the score (they might get a few chants about getting their baps out) and then get all offended by it. What did they expect? It's like a bloke showing up at a magic mike show with a load of hen parties and then getting offended when they start talking about cock or a blokes body.
