  1. You are a Bellend.
  2. Yes it is. Large parts of saintsforever was quiet. Many threads wouldn't be posted on for a long time. There are many more active users on here at most hours if the day then back then. You certainly wouldn't be able to post tubgirl or goatse now.
  3. I think people have short memories. This place has loads more posters than saintsforever used to.
  4. The comparison was that third world debt was such a huge number that had become so large that the actual value of it was largely symbolic since it was never going to be paid back. In that sense it is the same as our debt which also will never be paid off. I'm not trying to suggest that the two debts were accrued in the same way or that they are the same in every way and I doubt anyone thought I was.
  5. Well could you explain what it was you were facepalming about? Otherwise it's difficult to discuss it if you refuse to take issue with anything specific.
  6. Well no one else who has posted so far feels my comments were particularly outlandish. What was it you disagreed with?
  7. Where did I suggest we default on our debts? The system is ridiculous because we will never pay back what we owe under the current financial system. It's unrealistic to assume that we will do so because it isn't going to happen.
  8. If you hadn't mucked it up in the first place it wouldn't be a problem. Would probably be more useful to the thread if you actually responded to the points raised rather than facepalming all over the place.
  9. Nice one nick. Cracker of a response.
  10. No it isn't. Once a debt reaches a certain size it is impossible to pay back. It's rather like the huge amounts of debt written off from the third world. We will never be able to pay back the amount we owe and besides, much of it is due to bankers and the city which is nothing at all to do with the man on the street. The majority of "debt" that I am being told to pay back is in reality absolutely nothing to do with me.
  11. Why would you be scared? It gets to a point where the numbers become meaningless. The whole financial system and "debt" is just something man made. People get so wrapped up in it and it's utterly pointless.
  12. They year makes no difference at all. Human nature and the law of averages means there will always be the tiny chance of something horrible happening and there always will be. Very sad news.
  13. Not stroppy at all. Many initial reactions about players have proved to be accurate and others less so. Very unlikely to see me dredging up old topics to talk about it though. Just makes the person doing the dredging look like a bit of a loser.
  14. Of course it is. All I'm saying is it is easily understandable why some posters may have been dismissive of Bertrand due to the annoyance they felt towards the club as a whole.
  15. If you weren't concerned by what was going on over the summer then good for you. I think it was clear that the vast majority were worried to varying degrees.
  16. I think some would have been underwhelmed yes. I just think that in general, the comments would clearly have been more positive. So before dragging up comments from that period, the context in which they were written is clearly relevant.
  17. But in reality you have absolutely no idea if we plan to buy Bertrand in the summer. It could be argued that we didn't want to commit to a long term contract because we believe it will hinder the progress of targett and thus it is you not thinking long-term. We may have already agreed to buy Bertrand for all you know. Either way I'm happy not to worry about it until next summer when we have the entire summer to sort it.
  18. I think that's a load of rubbish tbh. Even if you could argue that it is uncertain should we not buy Bertrand in the summer, it is only in the summer that it would become uncertain and not now or the rest of this season.
  19. At the time I believed it be an uninspiring move and along with others in the context of the extremely worrying period we were going through expressed my frustration about this. Things have turned out better than even those in charge could have dreamed of so far and that's a brilliant thing. Bertrand has been very solid and has set about proving initial assessments based on an uninspired villa showing wrong. Credit to him and let's hope it continues.
  20. You can't tell me that comments would not be more tempered had this loan signing not happened in the middle of selling half the team and with seemingly little action towards replacing those lost. Comments would also have been more positive at the end if the window once it was clear that we had got some good replacements in so yes context is clearly important.
  21. Those comments have to be put in the context of what was happening at the time (team seemingly being destroyed.) Bertrand has been a solid signing and kudos to the board for that. Nothing wrong with having an initial reaction and then revising that once he takes to the field as a Saints player.
  22. He is saying that uglier buildings exist in Liverpool.
  23. Voting for a party leader isn't really democratic though is it.
