  1. Lou must be pleased.
  2. Brilliant article. This bit sums it up well:
  3. Convict colony moving up the list though based solely on this thread.
  4. Agree with three.
  5. Well an improvement on that. If you're starting near the bottom then the only way is up.
  6. Would probably change my opinion of you.
  7. Guess you missed the bit below that then and the bit where I said I was talking chiefly about news reporters...
  8. Except I wasn't talking about those affiliated to labour...
  9. What are you talking about? I was chiefly referring to the likes of news reporters who are now confidently telling us how labour were always doomed to fail. Alistair Campbell was on question time on Friday saying how it was always going to be like this yet the week before he was saying how perfectly labour had played it and how much more superior they have been. Commentators aren't solely those affiliated to a political party wheb you could argue that they had a vested interest in the result. Let's not pretend though that everyone knew this would happen. The reality is that no one predicted this so for anyone to pretend that they knew that labour were doomed to failure is clearly not telling the truth.
  10. It does make me laugh that so many commentators are saying how awful labour have been and how this was always going to be the case. No one said a word before or during the campaign and the consensus was they were doing better than expected.
  11. Well yes but the likes of ings and Austin were unproven in the Prem until this year and consequently their prices will be much higher. Our challenge is to find this year's Austin or ings which we can nick from the championship for a comparatively tiny amount.
  12. Only people like you are going to care about a flippant comment on Twitter.
  13. But equally we have seen decent players make the step up (Ings, Austin, Trippier, Jay Rod, Lallana etc etc.)
  14. Which is why the in out European referendum is so dangerous.
  15. I expect this one will be amended and is clearly designed to replace the ECHR one. In reality it isn't going to change much at all and certainly isn't going to lead to flagrant abuses of human rights like some on here seem to imply.
  16. Absolutely. It isn't being scrapped, it's being replaced by a British Bill of Right which I imagine will contain similar stuff.
  17. No but they did move to the right and we're closer to the right than they are now.
  18. That's not strictly true I'm afraid. The majority of reactions from lefties on here has been hysterical, melodramatic flim flam.
  19. That almost perfectly captures the attitude of KelvinsRightGlove.
  20. Erm which is exactly what I said, that my voting is based on a number of factors so in reality not "selfish" at all. I wouldn't arrogantly call you selfish or uncaring just because you happen to vote for a mainstream party that is different to the one I vote for. Stereotyping all tory voters as selfish and unfeeling will do nothing other than make you look foolish.
  21. Precisely. There is an extremely nasty and vicious undercurrent beneath the lefty exterior. A lot of the time it isn't even very well hidden.
  22. So when you vote you never have a thought for your own situation and how policies might affect you? What nonsense. I'll give you an example, one reason I voted tory is I think they will be best for my business. The success of my business means I can pay the people who work for me more rather than myself. Now how is that selfish?
  23. How could you possibly know that? I vote for a combination of factors which includes what I think is best for the country but also on the issues I care about and how things affect me. If you tell me that you don't give a thought for yourself or the issues that affect you when casting your vote then I'm afraid I don't believe you.
  24. I don't think it would be anything like the wailing and gnashing of teeth we are seeing now.
  25. Feeling is mutual mate. If you blindly vote for a party unthinkingly at every election then you really are a thick idiot.
