Was discussed on radio solent sports news - don't normally comment on transfer rumours. Can't get excited about this bloke at moment.
-
didn't think he was that bad. first half he beat his man loads of times - yes often cutting inside but that is common tactic in modern football - showed some really good control.

Why are we so crap at the beginning of the season..?

in that case suggest you give up - you will never be happy. -
think he was playing well in CM for MK

+1 (top for our level)

gutted every time I leave a ground when we haven't won. equally would never expect us to win every game and look for scape goats. -
Last season wasn't perfect, but suspect we will never have one so maybe you will never be happy. Its one thing a manager striving for perfection but fans won't get much pleasure if they think that is a realistic aim. Why was Lambert's form luck? Signed a good player who has consistently scored and improved his fitness and overall game - which he compliments AP in most interviews. We have certainly not hit the ground running this season, hopefully down to bad luck with unusual level of injuries but think it is far too early to consider that AP has suddenly gone from being good manager to poor.

exactly!

an away draw at Wycombe (away draws pretty much what you need to get promoted) which came after - winning 7 out of last 12 league games, and in 3 games before we beat Norwich, got to final of JPT and played well against prem skates - fair criticism or criticising as soon as you can? -
he appears to be getting better all the time we don't sign him!

doh! ok didn't win the must win!
-
is that season over? Lost the must win.
-
how long you stick with a manager is a hard one, no right answer;
-
don't you think we will? I do.
-
you know thats not what is being said. Do you agree that shows that AP did a good job last season addressing issues and building a good side?
-
terrible start to last season, 9 points in first 10 games. Last 10 months of the season: however, 74 points in the next 36 games. (leeds got 60 points in that time). and winning a trophy shows he addressed the problems and has shown to me he has what it takes to get a return of points (over 2 per game) to get promotion. Needs to address some issues now but not major ones.

no duff signings yet in over 12 months.

if he doesn't and you, with no football knowledge or seeing the team play, could do it so much better - why, I wonder does Cortesse pay him so much money to do the job? Interesting thing on talksport the other day, there's new book on football management. They were saying how fans think they could do a better job. This guy who did the research was saying how fans think managers make a handful of decisions and judge them on those - there are the tip of the iceberg and often ones that have less to do with the success. -
quite aware of that and have commented on where I think the weaknesses have been in all 3 games I have seen this season.
-
would hope he is being picky on signings!

Never seen such a range of opinions on players after a game! Schneiderlin was marginally better than Hammond - difference to me is that Schneiderlin was consistently good last season and is returning from injury, Hammond has disappointed me for months. Thought Puncheon was ok - sit in Itchen so was right infront of me and he was central to much of our good play in first half - maybe not so good in second when not so close for my aging eyes!
-
Football's not that simple - plan A then go to plan B, Pardew did change things, bottom line is didn't pay off. He tried playing three upfront with Lallana in more central role - and the replacement of Hammond with Puncheon gave us more balance. Too many player's not up to the potential - for example Lambert who is just back from injury. We had hatfull of chances and could easily been 3 up in first 10 mins. We weren't and that is how managers are judged.

Pardew should not instruct his team to hit the post twice and allow their keeper to play out of his skin.
