what makes us more likely to go down; losing in a poor game, no spirit to give hope to the fans or players for the next game, playing horrible hoof ball to put crowds off or losing with good spirit and entertainment, to give players and fans some hope and keep crowds coming
-
no, not misguided far summary from someone who saw the game. When they first score (and yes poor defending is part of the game) it was against the run of play and then they were on top for a while. Good spirit and some good football, and entertaining
-
has he fallen on his sword this morning? or is 90 -49 not going to persuade him?
-
we started well, up until they scored, then they were on top for a bit, then us again. Difference once again, was the important bit either ends. How someone who didn't go say that we looked demoralised at the beginning and the pressure Euell was under to make a stupid mistake?? Heard bits on the radio on way home and they weren't that negative about the performance so where did he get it from??? Of course the result is the most important thing. I guess if you don't see a game this is all you can go on, but if you see it you can draw on the entertainment you had and some of the bits that impressed.

yep - it showed when the poor ref united the fans and the team were lifted.
-
he will find that hard to argue with;)
-
currently at 47 to go, 12 to stay!
-
and back to the game.. why is it the start of the season we had good first halves!
-
for example, personally if it was just for Lowe to walk with no obvious replacement beforehand leaving Crouch and Wilde to argue again -I would say stay and keep the continuity.. If it was for a uniting respected figure head with backing of all shareholders (or buying out) e.g Salz I think it could be a good thing. Very simplistic I know but not as bad as Lowe out and place an add in job centre!
-
its like the Burley out votes -which got some reasonable support, but if the vote were more accurately Burley out to be replaced by Dodd -think it would have been very different! So your vote is only half of a question
-
that was for me the most obvious error
-
and vote who in? would effect my vote!
-
the crowd who saw the game weren't embarrassed today, the lads were applauded off.

wolves local paper, also states we started the brightest Goals from Chris Iwelumo and David Jones put Mick McCarthy's men in the driving seat at St Mary's but a spirited response from the Saints, who pulled a goal back through Alex Pearce and had Jason Euell sent off, will have pleased Dutch boss Jan Poortvliet. Euell was sent off for a studs-up challenge on Richard Stearman just before half-time, but a young Saints team kept Wolves under the cosh for long periods in the second half. The home side started brightly and Wolves were fortunate when David McGoldrick was left unmarked in the box but could not finish. However, the visitors were quickly into their stride and Iwelumo opened the scoring in the eighth minute. On-loan winger Carlos Edwards swung in a cross and the unmarked Scotland striker, recalled to the national squad this week to face Argentina despite his awful miss against Norway, headed in. But McGoldrick led an impressive response from the Saints and it took a good save from Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme in the 15th minute to deny the striker. And Wanderers extended their lead two minutes later when Edwards broke forward before laying the ball off to fellow midfielder Jones, who hit the ball past Saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis. But the home side replied straight away with Ikeme tipping over Andrew Surman's effort and defender Pearce was left unmarked from Adam Lallana's ensuing corner to head in. Ikeme needed to be alert to gather Surman's swerving shot before Jones' vicious volley was well saved by Davis as Wolves threatened to restore their two-goal lead. Moments before the half-time whistle, referee Lee Mason showed a straight red card to Euell when he and Stearman jumped into a tackle, but the Wolves defender came off worse. The visitors looked to make their extra-man advantage pay straight from the restart but it was Southampton striker Bradley Wright-Phillips, replacing Oscar Gobern at the interval, who hit a post as Poortvliet's young side bravely took the game to the leaders despite being down to 10 men. Wolves centre-half Michael Mancienne, on loan from Chelsea and tipped to win an England call-up for the friendly against Germany, was booked for a foul on Morgan Schneiderlin as the home side continued to dominate. Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy replaced an out-of-sorts Sylvan Ebanks-Blake with another striker, Andy Keogh, but it was the home side who nearly scored next with Wright-Phillips squaring the ball for McGoldrick who should have equalised. The visitors were also guilty of wasting chances with the unmarked Jones heading wide from Edwards' cross. A flurry of bookings saw Surman and Rudi Skacel booked for Southampton, and Wolves captain Karl Henry cautioned for arguing with the referee who decided not to book Schneiderlin after he tripped Edwards. The official further upset the home fans by turning down an appeal for a penalty after McGoldrick tumbled in the area following a challenge by Stearman. Wolves substitute Sam Vokes fired into the side-netting in the final moments but the visitors hung to stay six points clear of second-placed Birmingham following their fifth successive victory

Mick Mc said he thought they got out of jail to get a result after how we performed.
-
lowest form of wit!
-
there were several clear -very clear offsides missed in 2nd half, and the foul on surman at edge of box, very inept
-
first ten mins was good as well, some real good spirit, worrying not to get anything, but perhaps those who are slagging team off should have seen the standing applause the team got at the end
-
I would like to thank Rupert Lowe and Mike Wilde for something..
NickG replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
what glad you left? not that fussed -
Remember that fans that come, sit quietly then only sing for a short whiles when they score? We remind them that they only sing when they are winning. Remember when we were in the premiership, teams who were on the up would visit, who had been poorly supported in their bad times. We asked them where they were when they were sh1t? Don't let those fans be us When we were doing well in premiership, if asked if you would still support saints in bad times when we were hardly managing a home win in the CCC -would you have said you would still be there shouting for the lads? As the poster said, f them all, they only stop it being our club if we don't think if it as our club. Forget boardroom and enjoy your afternoon and a 4-3 home win!

can't see it myself, but who knows
-
thats imaginative to the extreme! He may have gone off him, but he wouldn't take that financial risk out of spite. Feel this is really important question as to whats going on and whether lowe should stay or be replaced by Crouch (or a crouch appointee)
-
that seems quite a believable explanation
