by different types you mean home grown, cheaper ones, potential future talent who possibly had agents refusing to sign contracts with Lowe due to lack of first team opportunites -then possibly. Bottom line what he said didn't appear that bad yesterday when falsely exagerated, today it seems even milder - and remember the quotes I added (a few times!) that Bassett himself said he was happy to work with this level of involvement. Perhaps we should leave it as we are getting caught up on a couple of words, made in passing by Dave Bassett of all people!

agree, what I meant is personally not sure if this was a real relevant issue in keeping him, i.e. whether it was purely the Lowe's man thing, or a combination of his man, who he wanted to work with and thought was good being cheaper as well

I couldn't stand the self promoting **** when he was at WHU. Loved it when Lowe turned him down when he came asking for a job and Lowe said WHU had the 3rd (I think) largest wage bills and only just escaped relegation - all seems a long time ago now!

you missed the initial one, and your loast one said about Lowe "Every week Harrys selection was picked over, every week Rupert Lowe insisted he.." which is the bit used to say he is too involved, and doesn't appear in transcript unless I missed it

1) I personally do not have any evidence of salaries -do seem to remember on OS that a comment that the two were on less than NP -maybe wrong, also appreciate all the criticisms of OS and don't trust it completely, but without meaning offence, would trust it bit more than anonymous posters on here 2) agree totally, as in my post above,clearly Lowe wanted his own man 3) I wanted NP to stay, was optimistic of how he would do with preseason etc, however don't think he was great -more promising, but that's another thread! Not convinced he would have been much better/worse than JP in same circs, but who knows 4) said many times how glad I was to rid the club of the embarassment that was Lowe, how I had a drink with Hoos and talked about the future and fans days etc, I support the team as I did when Golac was my hero and the board is secondary. I don't think Lowe is evil and just don't believe the OTT comments on here at times

I didn't say he refused to work with young players or disliked them, merely making the point that it is generally suggested on here that Lowe has insisted what players go, or issues re appearance fees etc -whatever the truth his own man is more likely to work with him, would you think?

if that's right, I am not convinced NP v JP would be hugely different so it does make some sense - particularly if Lowe knew he was going to cull the "stars" and JP would be more accepting of that.

none of them fill me with any confidence! Biggest problem with Lowe was his manager appointments, on the cheap and leading to the decline (very simplistic view I know) And then Crouch did the same and was lucky we didn't end up in Div 1!

what is the gossip (assuming no-one actually knows?) of JP's salary?

I do not know at all the facts of the relative salaries of JP and NP if that helps!

my "bit of perspective" post last night was derided by many, as they said lowe will be suing, bank would want him out over this. I dared to suggest it was a storm in a teacup and thankfully many agreed but some couldn't believe that I was missing the point. I have just had a chuckle as I read the actual comment -that Lowe will be taking legal action over..... ..." he always wanted Harry Redknapp to play the kids. " Can't believe he is trying to ride this one out! lol

putting it bluntly that's up to them -but I support the same team that I did from the chocolate boxes didn't know or care who was in the board room then and whoever is there now won't stop me go. Lowe/Couch/Askham/Wilde/Allen/Salz etc do not cross my mind when I am watching the team come out to play
