Chelsea 2 Saints 2 - Post Match Celebrations & MotM
Graffito replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Hit JRod early down the channels or don't bother. Not JRod's fault, we just don't pick up his runs quickly enough. Way we played first half was crying out for Lambert to hold the ball up. He came on, immediate impact. Another point, we have England's future fullbacks. Finally, Schneiderlin and Cork played really well. -
Ticket and transport it's more or less the same price for me to go from my home in north London to Wigan as it is to go down the road to Chelsea. Cheaper food and drink too.
-
Relieved to read his surname means conqueror.

I support that. Football grounds badly needed improvement in the wake of Bradford and Hiilsborough but we seem to have thrown out the baby with the bath water in dispensing entirely with terraces. there seems to have been an agenda to gentrify football and it's never been quite the same since.

You get what you are given for away games. Anything over and above this is probably beyond the capacbility of the TO. Ignore the moaners. It was a good atmosphere in the lower tier yesterday.

Villa 0 v Saints 1 post match chat & MotM
Graffito replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Playing into the channels for Rodriquez to run onto was a sensible tactic and worked well. It's one I reckon we'll see again in away matches. Big win and a great day out. I like Brum. The Morris Dancers in the Shakespeare Tavern were surprisingly enjoyable. The Wittan Arms was unreal. Lots of Frenchman in there for some reason. -
Whatever formation, whatever personnel, crosses into Lambert.

What would you do with the sandworks opposite St Marys?

Some green space for Ted to look out onto and extend the footpath down to Ocean Village but no chance of that it would be flats. -
Sorry mate. Didn't think I was getting stroppy and I understood your point full well. Thought you enjoyed a bit of banter. I won't pull your leg then about someone with 16k posts accusing me of hijacking a thread.
-
I just paid £50 for a ticket to see my team away to Chelsea next week. I live in London. By your logic therefore I am either a mug or a bell-end or both. As you say, it's up to us bell-ends, assuming we have the means to give us a choice about whether or not to go.
-
No Frank you must be struggling too. He's not talking about why Adkins will be sacked.
-
Oh right, fair enough you're not talking about why Adkins will be sacked. Maybe you're on the wrong thread then.
-
And Gross, will he attract the cream of Europe. Anyway the article is referring to Adkins' results as the reason for his job being alledgedly under threat not his so called inability to assist the transfer committee in attracting players to the club.
-
Well argued and in a way I can see what you are getting at in that teams that play with fluid formations like Saints want to play have a very mobile forward or forwards. But until we unearth a Suarez then Lambert is by far our most effective forward. I'd also have to disagree with your view that Lambert wouldn't have scored the Rodriquez goal against Chelsea. The two he scored away to Ipswich last season spring to mind immediately.

Absolute B@llocks.

Managing to stay upright would be a good start.

Thread title had me worried for a minute. Never been impressed with Chamakh for Arsenal and I don't know any Arsenal fans that rate him but I can see him doing better with West Ham.
-
The agent's touting for a better offer. Perhaps he's waiting for QPR to come in because the player would prefer to live in Shephards Bush.
-
Love the FA Cup, especially 3rd round. We should play a strong side to win it. 100%.
-
We're more Crewe than Manu. I'd settle for watching 50% academy graduates in a team which holds a PL place as there is a certain amount of pride in having players that have come up through the ranks. I won't give up on the dream of something better but there would have to be an exceptional set of circumstances and a major structural shift in football finance for that to become a reality.
-
Of the other 7 sides in the bottom 8 only Fulham and QPR have gained on us over games played yesterday and tonight. Not a bad set of results for Saints. Added to which, recent Saints performances suggest we are on the up. Certainly not "disastrous". And of course we've gained on Wigan, Reading , Sunderland and Newcastle.

Would they have risked it they'd scored and we'd lost?

Saints 1 Arsenal 1 - Post Match Reactions & MotM
Graffito replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Contrast this evening's performance to the 6 - 1 and we see the progress that's been made. It will be touch and go but we're good enough to stay up. -
Saw him on the screen in the pub before the game but the sound was off. He looks like a tramp.
