Well that was a fun couple of days. Shouldn't be long before all us fans can get back to just insulting each other
-
They really didn't talk to their own managers and players before this did they? I've seen Klopp, Guardiola, Milner and Rashford all speaking out against it so far.

I'd imagine it'd be The FA that implement any restrictions. They're also against the ESL.

Strong response from the government by the sound of it, looking into every possible mechanism they can to prevent the ESL going ahead.

Still Leicester's I guess? 2015 however...

In terms of the legal position on banning players from playing for their country, England Rugby has had restrictions in their selection policy for a long time now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/32626996

Moving for more money is one thing, at their level it's almost more like just keeping score, but if it's a choice between having more money than you can spend, and playing for your country, or having even more money than you can spend, and being prevented from playing for your country? That's probably the sanction most likely to prevent this going ahead.

Looks like they'll also be kicking the clubs from their competitions. If they stick to it it'll be like going to play in China, plenty of money in it but no real glory. I dreamed of being a professional footballer as a kid. Never had any chance of making it, but for me there was no amount of money that would have made me give up a chance of playing for England.

UEFA's president appears to have confirmed that any players that play in the ESL will be barred from World Cups and Euros.
-
And retroactively award us the 1984 title?
-
Apparently refused to take the team training in protest and was fired.

Most people, myself included, just need to look at their attitude towards their own Fantasy League team for a decent comparison.

Jeez, it’s going to be boring for the majority about a third of the way through, when any realistic chance of winning has gone. The rest of the games are in effect friendlies because there’s absolutely nothing to play for. It’d be especially boring if FIFA, UEFA, and the domestic leagues stick to their guns with kicking out teams and players at both club and international level. The Premier League would certainly survive, for every player that makes it at a Premier League club, there are hundreds that didn’t lining up to replace them.
-
We restricted them to the square root of feck all as well. Their only shot on target came from the luckiest ricochet I’ve seen all season.
-
Damn. We gave it a go at least. Hard to stomach losing to a goal where the striker fucked it up that much and got that lucky.
-
We’re definitely in this game, just need one of the half chances to bounce our way and we’re in with a chance here.
-
During our bad run we’ve still taken four points off of Liverpool and Chelsea. Our injury list is easing a bit and Leicester’s form has dropped off a bit. On top of that we haven’t conceded in the cup yet, including knocking out the holders, and we’ve looked far more confident in the cup games. We don’t go in as favourites, but those odds don’t look wildly wrong.
-
We’re still a long shot for the cup, but feels like we’re slightly less of a long shot now than this morning
-
Dammit.
-
Ohhhh... close!

Finally looks like we're starting to turn up to the game...
