Probably turns out fairly decent for everyone, although obviously slightly disappointing we're not the ones in Fulham's position. Decent fee helps us keep the rest of the team together now. Shea gets Prem football. Fulham get a player that's likely to improve and increase in value. At least he's not gone to Leeds for far less than he's worth.

Not a fantastic game, but decent enough to knock the competitive rust off, especially once the subs came on. Decent practice against a team sitting deep and really good to see Larin off the mark already.

If the rest of the team have got the same attitude as Downes, we won’t have any problem with motivation this season.

Nice to see England finish a tournament with a win! Glad France actually made a bit of a game of it since would probably felt a lot more hollow if they just played the same as the first half, especially if it takes the golden boot off of Messi. Such a good opportunity missed but the best result since ‘66… mixed feelings to say the least but less bitter than I expected to feel.

Woke up in time to see most of extra time, and possibly the best/worst penalty shootout I've ever seen Now back to sleep...

One thing you can say is, he's made us difficult to beat in competitive matches. It's not always the prettiest performances, but Tuchel knows tournament football. That said, knockout football, one unlucky or poor performance (that England do have in them), and that could be that.

Have to admit to an immense amount of catharsis seeing a German team experience that...
