Ah. That brings back memories of playing Striker 95, with Westhampton’s star player being Matthew Le Tissue if I recall correctly
-
Not the prettiest performance, but we’re through! Would have been the easiest game in the world for a player that’s not committed to go missing in, but we got the exact opposite from Fernandes.
-
Seems to have gone very much under the radar with other clubs’ fans (and some of our own) that we’ve got owners that have been prepared to sink more money into Saints than any other before them. Perhaps understandable considering that that investment hasn’t paid off anywhere near the way everyone would have liked, but we’re reportedly in the green on PSR, and so under no financial pressure to sell, except potentially to free up PSR if we think we can replace any outgoings with players that make us better.

The Supermané one? Still regret not picking one of those mugs up! One of my favourite memories of being at St Mary’s! Remember thinking that it might be the record when the third one went in, and of course it actually was!

Wouldn’t be surprised if no club can meet our valuation of him this summer, and Fernandes strikes me as the sort of character that would respect that.

Looking back at the highlights again, this match was a perfect argument for both sides of the VAR debate. We were on the wrong side of two howlers for penalties. On the flip side, imagine the winning goal delayed for five minutes while they checked every single camera angle for if Manning touched the ball with his arm or if there was a toenail offside.

Not so sure that he’s the player to get Dibling to pull his socks up.

Not much better in football than a late comeback against a time wasting team and a shocking ref
-
Ref ending up having an absolute stinker here.
-
Most of our players didn’t put in anywhere near their best effort last season, not just a young player that’s just breaking through and is still developing his consistency.
-
Or we sell him, his replacement does/doesn’t work out, and we’re stuck with a player that does/doesn’t suit us. As ever in football, there’s no option without risk/reward.
-
He’s been carrying a knock, not much to read into that either way.
-
Makes me laugh seeing how much they’re saying that we’ll have an unhappy player on our hands and hoping he’ll kick up a massive fuss. To go to Everton?
-
My take, we’ve set our stall out on fee now. Either Everton (or a gazumper) stump that up and we buy a replacement, or we’re in effect paying whatever his value drops (or possibly doesn’t if he has a stormer) to have him playing for us this season, with the possibility we get promoted and he signs a new contract. Feels like the club are pretty relaxed with either option.

Been a fantastic tournament to watch! Helps that England have just retained the title of course!

Some speculation that the drone strikes on the airfields, that likely took out two A50s, has left them with no flying A50s. The F16 taking down the SU35 certainly suggests they don’t have enough AEWACS capability for complete coverage any more. It’s an extremely significant shift in the balance of power if Ukraine has AEWACS and Russia doesn’t any more.
-
Knock on effects are already starting to bite. Russia has been relying more and more on their road network for logistics as their rail network is suffering from severe lack of maintenance. Now every single traffic route is snarled up with cargo traffic being inspected.
-
What the Ukrainians just hit IS what the Russians use to reply. Their ability to target Ukrainian civilian targets in the way they have been just took a significant and permanent hit.
-
That is a ridiculously massive hit to an extremely limited and irreplaceable Russian military capability.
-
Shows you how far Man Utd have fallen when not even Spursy can save their season! That said, how are Spurs one place above the relegation zone and European Champions?
-
Wow. What a day for Palace and their fans!

10 mins feels a bit excessive to me.

I remember Chelsea’s medic kicking off against Mourinho a few years back but the medics kicking off against each other is a new one for me as well.

Not enough to be overturned by VAR. Some refs would have judged that Haaland would have had a clear sight of an open goal from a wide angle without the handball, and sent the keeper. I don't think VAR would have overturned that.
