To make things worse Pothas is injured again ( groin strain) and Crawley took over until Burrows arrived. Ervine also took a knock on the finger, hopefully not too serious.

Oh well, it took all of 3 days for the euphoria to disperse and do I already sense the first seeds of despondency? I'm not really sure what one could expect at this stage with us having been close to closure and still no manager in place. It's rather stating the obvious to say we are way behind in terms of our pre season build up but I'm confident we'll have a new manager in place sooner rather than later and only then will our season really begin. So the reality is we are likely to struggle for the first part of the season and with the -10 points I suggest getting out of the relegation zone by Christmas would be a reasonable target. Lets just be grateful we still have a team, an owner who is clearly very astute and as long as we get behind the team then there is even an outside chance of a play off place. I think it would be unrealistic to expect anything more, we consolidate this season and I'm confident we'll push on next season.

It really isn't that far from Baker St/Marelybone or even Swiss Cottage. The No 13 bus takes you from SC to Lords in about 10 mins and also serves Baker Street if you are coming from that direction- also about 10 mins. I agree with much of this. I really don't mind who we have for a manager or where they come from though someone with a knowledge of what it takes to deal with playing in League 1 would certainly be an advantage. My own personal opinion of Jan Poortvliet was that he had a lot of good ideas but not the necessary nous to make us a success in the CCC. The fact he is now managing FC Eindhoven who play in the Dutch Div 1 ( effectively the 2nd team of PSV) suggests they think he has something to offer and they may well be right. However, he simply was not cut out to manage a team in the CCC. Doesn't make him a bad manager, just a bad choice in this instance. So aside from a few people who nobody clearly want as manager I'll be happy with anyone with a decent record regardless of their nationality but if we are are to go with a foreign manager then we need someone of high quality, Scolari wouldn't be a bad option !

However, taking your post at face value and there seems no reason not to then that is blatantly racial as well or is it Ok to single out "white" people ? No, of course it is not so maybe now you'll get the lifetime ban you seem to have been striving for since this forum opened. However, I will not hold my breath. Methinks an apology is called for pretty sharpish or I might even decide to name and shame you.

Why ? I'm sure he's as aware as anyone as to the amount of work that needs to be done. The pre-season has essentially only just begun with everything prior to Tuesday being carried out under a cloud of total uncertainty. No matter who you are and in what field you work you'd need to be incredibly focused not to have let that affect your training/performance. If you have ever worked even for a short time under such circumstances you'll know it is not a nice feeling and with the best will in the world you can't give anything like your best. For sure we are lacking players in many areas but even those who could do well for us are hardly likely to be anywhere near to being match fit. It is worrying but only in the short term I suggest, once we have a new manager and some new faces only then will we begin to see what the new season might have in store. It just requires some patience.
