  1. Ah, that explains why Scholten was such a decent price. I thought it was a mistake when I saw it yesterday! Anyway John Part also lost against the exceptionally well known Bill Davis
  2. Yes, just great : Monday 22nd December 10.00am Leave Watford and lug my bags a mile to Watford Met Line 12.30 or therabouts Arrive at Victoria Coach Station 1.00 Board coach ( hopefully) 3.35 Arrive in Southampton and just want to get home to Regents Park from Central Station ASAP and there may be no buses !! Not happy at all
  3. That I definitely agree with and I'm in the same position in terms of having no free bets However, if you have not used online bookies ( or used only a few) then it is really a no brainer as you can make easy money. Bet72 is a good site even if Darren who runs it does support Reading! The group is on FB: http://www.facebook.com/s.php?q=Bet72&init=q&sid=e7e50879fe5f280472a5ccf445c8c69e#/group.php?gid=9117661374 The direct link to his webpage is: http://www.bet72.com He'll also give you free advice as to how best to take advantage of the free bets.
  4. If you have the time and inclination to look long enough then the arbs are there but you need to check so many odds it becomes a real chore. Even something like Oddschecker does not really help since most of the opportunities are in such obscure events you will not find the prices on there and one sure bet is that if you do find a less than 100% over round on Oddschecker then it will not be there for very long! Anyway, you need a figure of at least as low as 95% to make it really worthwhile unless you have 1000's to put on and if you can afford that why bother !!
  5. Of course as a general rule every team does better at home than away! However, there are many reasons for that, the home support ( or lack of) being only one of them. My very early Dell memories were of fans in the stands slow hand clapping or stamping their feet to show they were not happy with the team. I was still a nipper and used to think " why do they do that if they are supposed to be supporters of the team!? ". All that has changed I suggest is that the criticism is far more vocal and often far more personal these days. In short it's worse! There was certainly a spell after the Dell was reduced to a capacity of 15,000 when the tightness of the ground was a major help to us and for a lot of that time we had a good team anyway so the criticism of the team was less. Then when we didn't have much of a team we at least had Le Tiss to keep most fans happy !!
  6. Unfortunately playing at home is often more of a hindrance than a help and has been for many of the 40+ years I've been supporting Saints. It's so hypocritical to talk about what great fans we have ( and indeed I take my hat off to the great away support we get) whilst on the other hand going to a game and shouting abuse and then saying that you're entitled to do so. It's impossible to argue with the fact you are entitled to do so but for me as a fan I say NO NO NO, a millions time NO. Hand on heart I have NEVER shouted abuse at any Saints player or team no matter how pathetic we have been as I'm of the opinion it's clearly self defeating. Given everything that has happened and the players Poortvliet inherited I'm not sure it's realistic to have expected him to achieve much more. He needs at least 2 years before it's fair to judge him though the current trend of giving a manager a paltry few months is just absurd. We'll not be relegated, Doncaster and Forest are dire, Charlton, Barnsley and Watford not much better.
  7. Descriptive Classifications of Intelligence Quotients IQ Description % of Population 130+ Very superior 2.2% 120-129 Superior 6.7% 110-119 High average 16.1% 90-109 Average 50% 80-89 Low average 16.1% 70-79 Borderline 6.7% Below 70 Extremely low 2.2% Modesty forbids me from given my IQ but I'm clearly very, very superior
  8. I posed the question about Mick not receiving any "honours" some months back and it was generally agreed it must be through personal choice. With his record in Football and Horse Racing it's a dead cert he has been approached but knowing the kind of down to earth guy he is I suspect he would not want the fuss ! As for starting a FB group it is easy http://www.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?gid=47155005228#/group.php?gid=47155005228
  9. My "prayer" on FB worked, I have rarely enjoyed seeing a team other than Saints score as much as when AC Milan equalised Chris is praying AC Milan get a late equaliser v the Skates! 21.53 Chris yesssssssssss Inzaghi.Get in there !! 21:57
  10. Can we have all of them
  11. Yes, it's a nice change to read a detailed, balanced article about us. Can't really argue with the report at all, thanks for the link.
  12. Some things never change George. It's 4+ months since I came on here and though much has changed it's clear people still post without engaging their brains ! The average person on Jobseekers Allowance gets £60.50 per week and many can't even afford a phone line let alone Internet access both of which as well as being the only way many can interact regularly are very important tools when looking for work ( at least 40% of jobs advertised by JCP are online applications only). The result is many become so depressed they too end up on Incapacity Benefit. Only the totally bone idle and/or the totally stupid would chose not to work if they were physically capable of so doing. Football is pricey for many in work let alone those on benefits/pensions so as is generally the case I agree with you
  13. Has to be Mark Dennis for me though contrary to a few posts I think it's a very hard choice with the likes of Peach, Bridge, Bale and Hollywood to consider.
