  1. Should be more than enough v Ireland especially with Tahir back, really needed him in the team so it's great timing. I think we need to win this game and our final game v Notts on Wednesday to qualify for the 1/4 finals.
  2. 1.30 Newbury Queen of Pentacles- looks overpriced at 25/1 with Bet365 and Skybet 7.40 Doncaster Dorn Dancer- best priced 14/1 ( Bet365 and Skybet)
  3. Just as well I decided to buck the trend!
  4. York 2.40 Kite Wood York 3.45 City Dancer York 4.55 Legion Dhonneur I also think Sans Frontieres is good value, currently 31/2 on Betfair. However, I'm keen on Kite Wood in the same race so that will be my main bet.
  5. York 3.10 Edge Closer York 3.45 Overrule
  6. Lol, he managed 9.1 overs 0 maidens 3-13. Brilliant:)
  7. Pothas was injured in a game last week, not sure when he'll be fit. Glad to have Dimi back, he obviously is a key player for us as is Cork who I think was a great signing. Not sure who DR Briggs is though, must check out his info.
  8. LOL And even that one was only awarded the race after a stewards enquiry though definitely the right decision !
  9. Tuesday 5th May: Chepstow 2.40 Decision at around 6/1 Fakenham 3.20 Crashtown Hall at around 3/1 Chepstow 4.10 Wilbury Star at around 2/1.
  10. For those who like to follow trainers doing well "with early 20/1 and 5/1 successes, Mal Boyles 'Juvenile Horse Watch' on GG.COM is proving a very useful resource for punters. Trainer stats just added confirm that Mick Channon is this season's leading 2YO trainer to date" http://www.gg.com/ Perhaps Mick could give us all the nod when he expects a winner and we donate half our winnings to the SOS fund !
  11. Ah, it was Easy Odds : http://www.easyodds.com/help/index.html
  12. Yes GG.com is a good site, you can get alerts by email for free. Texts cost 50p per alert. I used to use another site but can't remember which one
  13. Hants have posted a very good total, 300/5 off their 50 overs. Benham 108*, Pothas 57* put on an unbroken 177 for the 6th wicket. Leics 48/2 off 13 overs in reply. Looking good so far!
  14. You know I'm not going to post anything about this topic which may mean something or nothing, does anyone really know? What is amazing is that it's run already to 9 pages, what's sad is the in fighting that continues relentlessly on this board and the reason I have only just paid my fiver to enable me to post as often as I like but on the General Sports and particularly Cricket where in several years on S4E/TSF I cannot recall any of this nonsense. I think it would be really useful if certain people learnt to respect others, not make sarcastic comments and resort to abuse. I have just one word for that, PATHETIC!
  15. Agreed, 20/20 in general is not for me, even though I have Setanta I've not watched one game nor will I. It's actually more understandable for Dimi to take part as he must surely not earn anywhere near as much as KP who should indeed show more loyalty as should have Flintoff instead of getting injured again in meaningless games. Pathetic !
  16. Having Dimi would be useful too instead of him playing in the wretched IPL !
  17. Today in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket 3.10 I did like the look of Gan Amrhas at about 12/1 though Tommo then made it his charity bet on the Morning Line, kiss of death
  18. 113/4. 2 wickets for Cork so far. My Lancs friend was fuming he was allowed to leave, our gain methinks
  19. I'm not a great fan of horse racing tipsters but this is a decent and genuine service. I think it's about a tenner for the selections for any horse racing meeting so doesn't cost a fortune: http://www.thesportsinvestor.co.uk/marks_your_card.php I rarely if ever make any selections before the day of racing, too many variables especially the weather.
  20. I posted this earlier Bit too early for any definite tips but at Bath I like the chances of : 4.30 Riqaab at around 11/4 5.05 Speed Song at around 7/1
  21. Best bet would probably be £50 ew on Collier Bay in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham 1996 at 16's ( SP 12/1). In those days I could afford that size bet but no longer I try and forget my worst bets but somewhat perversely it was probably a £500 bet on a 1/2 shot when I made the near fatal error of chasing my losses. Luckily it won but it was still an awful bet !
  22. Bit too early for any definite tips but at Bath I like the chances of : 4.30 Riqaab at around 11/4 5.00 Speed Song at around 7/1
  23. I know several Leicester fans, they have thoroughly enjoyed this season as you'd expect. On the other hand living so close to Luton I bump into a lot of Luton fans who as you would expect are not happy! The difference ( or one of them ) of course is Leicester were not deducted THIRTY points by the Football League( a disgrace in my eyes). I think any club/fan would be really hacked off by having to win 10 games just to get to zero points. Mathematically of course Luton could have survived in the Football League but realistically the deduction was always going to lead to only one outcome. But even then Luton's MD Gary Sweet can find some positivity: " We can hold our heads high knowing we haven't been relegated for our performances or the quality of our players. It felt like ( being relegated ) a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders because, for the first time, the dark clouds hanging over us left by the previous incumbents have been moved on. " Of course they also managed to win the JP Trophy, not to be sneezed at when things are so bad and an indication that actually they had a decent team ! Ideally next season which realistically will be in League One we can start with new owners, a new manager and no points deduction and start to rebuild the ruins left by 5-6 years of incompetence on a massive scale. At present it feels exactly as Gary Sweet commented that many dark clouds are hanging over the club, it's depressing even for someone like me who can find positives from most situations. Currently I can find none from our current plight other than a heartfelt hope things can only improve !?? Most of all ( points deduction or not) this current situation must never be allowed to happen again, one could hope that the fans will be allowed a far bigger say in all things Saints related AND not kept in the dark over just about every issue( though the uncertainty re the takeover is to be expected given not only the complexity of the situation but that the disclosure of the people behind any takeover bid might not be in their best interests and ultimately that of the club). One final wish is that a role be found for MLT ( and maybe) Franny within the club. I'm not sure either have any desire to be appointed as full time managers, coaches etc but I'd be very disappointed if both were not prepared to spend some time in some capacity helping the club.
  24. It's a real shame there are 2 World Championships but are not Taylor and Van Barneveld the 2 best players in the world !? Would be hard to argue against it I suggest though of course the quality is still there in the BDO with the likes of Anderson and Webster. I no longer have Sky but I'll be watching the BDO Champs as well and looking forward to it a great deal. Have to admit there is something about the BDO version which the PDC Championship does not have though hard to describe exactly what it is though possibly that I'm really old and remember how much I enjoyed watching the likes of Bristow, Lowe, Wilson and Rees !!
