quite right..... i was on a plane flying down the east coast of the USA on September 11th, and got diverted to Bangor in Maine for the 2 days til they lifted the no-fly ban........it was an incredibly surreal time for everyone.....i remember just watching the TV in the hotel room (they had switched off the tv's at the airport,so as not to freak people out too much) and being in total disbelief and shock at what i was witnessing. like i said, it was a very dark and surreal time. would really like to visit Ground Zero tho, just to realise the scale of the site and what happened on that day.

this annoys me also, but that's a whole other thread issue!!!!

did i say i agreed with her???????? NO!!!! all i'm saying is that if thru her, presumably reasearched, role in this film she spoke with members of and sympathised with aspects of what the IRA were trying to achieve, then surely she has the right to say so. i have highlighted the word 'aspects' because i wanted to explain that by that, i meant the motivation behind their campaign, not the violence and bloodshed that they used to promote their organisation.. and as for this comment 'airing' on the anniversary of the world's biggest single terrorist attack, let's not forget that the US government had been "more than hospitable" to the leaders of the IRA , Gerry Adams and co for many many years prior to 9/11!!!! it's only when terrorism landed on the doorstep of the US 7 years ago that ,all of a sudden, the world is fighting a "War On Terror!"..........was Bill Clinton and his predecessors fighting a war on terror whilst wining and dining Gerry Adams................i doubt it!!

erm.........................NO

i concur with all of the above, but i do like the sound of the 125year anniversary kit n badge idea, we wouldn't be changing the badge for good, but just adopting (or perhaps 'fostering' would be a more apt word) a new one for the 1 season... Mods, how about a poll to see if people are up for this idea. and maybe if enough people show an interest , the idea could be put to the club's marketing department.. i for one would buy a replica top with a 125 year anniversary badge on it...

if that's her opinion, i don't really see what the problem is...:smt102 just because it is not politically correct in some people's eyes, doesn't mean that she can't say what she thinks. last time i looked we lived in a democracy where freedom of thought and speech is our right......... feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

seriously tho, i happen to like the new design.....it looks almost regal!!:smt023 (the one season thing is a good idea too)...

The good old days - old timer goes off on one again

trouble is i think we all look back on our childhoods with rose coloured specs on.. i had a fantastic childhood, altho we had very liitle money.i had a lot of good friends and would go off on our bikes, making go-carts, climb trees and build dens.we would be gone all day long. so long as i was back within calling distance of home by the time the street lights came on, everything was ok.. however, should i NOT have been home on time, then i would have been 'for it'!! and now i'm a parent myself i can see that my parents didn't freak out because they were on some power trip, but because they would start to worry that something bad had happened to me. every generation for the last 100 years or so has been allowed more freedom to explore and develop and have had more material possession that the previous generation. every child should be able to look back on their childhood with a smile on their face and say "yeh, i had a great time as a kid".....and i'm sure today's generation will be able to do the same too -
was on my way back from Tesco this morning, switched the radio on in my car and switched it straight back off again when i heard Whiley's voice....she just annoys the cr@p outta me but there is no-one else on radio 1 that annoys me quite as much as that Nehal tw8t!!!!!!!!:smt021 (altho Zane Lowe comes pretty god damn close too)........ FYI, Chris Moyles is God!!!!

i would love to do a parachute jump, swim with a blue whale (or whale shark) and see the Northern Lights.. i haven't really done anything that i would recommend to others, i really must get on n do stuff, rather than just thinking about doing it!

popped in there for a drink a little while back.....was a lovely little pub, n the landlord was a really nice guy... (and nice smelling handwash and proper hand towels in the ladies :smt023) i live in Weston, and would class the Gardeners as my local, but have NEVER stepped foot inside it, and will probably NEVER step foot inside it.. went to the Cottage in Butlocks Heath a couple of months back, as it's within walking distance. That's a nice liitle pub too ..

and anyone who insists on calling pear cider "Perry" is far too pretentious for their own good HTH

then it matches my personality perfectly........... MB ...are you seeing "image moved or deleted"??? i have been informed that this is what some people are seeing. however, i can see the image perfectly fine, as can Ponty (i asked him to check it) if he manages to switch my avatar over ok, then you will see the true image, and in awe you will be : ) (mind you there's no gratuitous sex, so maybe you won't) having said that, you may be able to spot a camel toe in the image
