Portsmouth chief executive David Lampitt has defended manager Steve Cotterill's decision not to sign new players during the transfer window. Lampitt, 34, took up his post at Pompey in June 2010 and insists the new board did not influence Cotterill's decision. "It's the manager's call on who to bring in, we were interested in a couple of signings but they didn't come off," he told BBC Radio Solent. "Steve Cotterill decided to stick with what he's got and he was right."
