  1. Looks like a decent signing. Experienced winger who can score goals. Surely can't be as bad as Ely.
  2. I was a bit surprised to see the BBC including in their Summary section: "Nathan Jones under pressure at Southampton following home defeat by Nottingham Forest" It's unusual for them to be like that about someone so new to the job and as an outsider (their perspective) you'd assume is in no danger of being sacked already. Clearly the fan discontent is having some impact "out there" and just how poor we've been has been noticed. It's not just the echo chamber of Saintsweb.
  3. Based on the after match comments from him and JWP I would say he'll be here for quite a while yet.
  4. Jones was surprised at the boos after his team didn't muster one shot on target and have now lost 6 league games in a row. And he says he was surprised??
  5. Is anyone on the board even watching though. Do they even care?
  6. Surely another manager could do something different with the squad available. Jones watched his failing tactics for about 85 minutes tonight before changing it.
  7. We have had some lows since our return to the Premier League. But this is by far the worst. We've even managed to break our record run of defeats with 6 in a row. Even back in the 90's we didn't manage that. Can see that stretching a lot further. Squad is weakest we've had for years. No quality. No real desire. We've got basically a youth team keeper in goal... Pretty much no chance of survival just 20 more painful games to watch and a chance to get the record for being furthest adrift of safety award come the end of the season.
  8. Time for SR to hold up their hands and admit it was a mistake. Now is the perfect time to bring in a new man and some new players and set it right.
  9. 20 games left - can't see where we'll even get another goal from, let alone a point.
  10. Literally could not do any worse.
  11. Must win game against one of the worst teams in the league. We've played 5 at the back, had 5 shots and none on target. Jones has no clue.
  12. I'd take that right now. I think it'll be 2-0 Forest.
  13. We look a bit brighter but total lack of quality still shows. No end product.
  14. Things were very bad under Ralph. But I reckon we'd have won at least one of the last 4 games. Second half can only get better.
  15. I agree, but so far Sports Republic have failed in all the big calls.
  16. I guess (going back to that recording the club made) just shouting at all the players in training didn't actually help.
  17. Confidence pumping through their team now. This is going to get worse.
  18. We will surely have to consider Jones' position. We are worse than under Ralph. Every game is a new formation with no consistency. And he can't seem to see where the problems are - persists in picking Lyanco/Bazunu etc. Only been almost 4 games but the early signs are we've made a mistake.
  19. It's actually incredible we aren't further adrift !
  20. The performance of a team heading down. Play better, still lose to a late goal.
  21. I see what you are saying. I haven't given up on NJ yet but the reason we probably won't be in the Premier League next year is not the fans fault and nothing to do with deserving anything. It's down to SR's bad decision making in the summer. They've shown a total lack of understanding in what it takes to build a Premier League side. Many of us were sceptical at the total lack of experience and verifiable quality of our signings. We have to hope they've not used the same bad decision making to appoint the new manager. But so far their record is not sacking Ralph in the summer when it was obviously needed, signing the Man City youth team and .. well, we'll see if they got NJ right or not.
  22. Loads of games to go. But right now it's looking more like a long, slow, depressing rest of the season as we fall more and more off the pace. Like supporting Norwich, West Brom or Sheff Utd on their forays into the Prem.
  23. TBF he has no other options on the bench.
  24. Even if that happened, I think it's too late. By January we'll need wins against the likes of Man Utd, Man CIty, Liverpool etc. to stay up. Next 3 games were crucial and we've lost today and does anyone honestly expect us to beat Fulham and Forest? We have no goals in the team.
  25. Brighton are a decent side these days. But we've got nothing at all to offer at this level.
