Same manager, same coaching staff, same preperations, same tactics + a couple of different players. Not much has changed since mid december (form has been poor) what makes you think we can go from getting 9 points from 21 (up to Norwich) then suddenly win 14,15,16 or 17 on the bounce?

So you agree - the 8 games since mid december was/is a poor period? So thats the 1st 10 league games 9 points from 30 plus 8 games since December 10 points from 24 + minus 10 Thats why we wont make it.

Since this thread is to discuss our playoff aspirations its standard to look at our league form and not include the tin pot cup results. Since Mid December our form is LWLDDWDW thats 10 points from a possible 24! Thats poor in my book.

ask me in 10 games if we can make the play offs.....my answer will (sadly) still be the same. we will not win 15, 16 or 17 games from 17 and to make the playoffs that is whats required. Awful start + extended poor run since december + minus 10 = not going to happen. Like others have said, a good finish to this year + JPT cup and I will be content. Next season = BIG pressure + no more excuses.

If, If, If We did manage to win 13 from 17 we would finish with 76 points To finish above us - Huddersfield would need to win just 7 and draw 2 from 15 Swindon would need to win just 7 games from a remaining 16 Charlton would need just 6 wins from 14 Colchester would need just 5 wins from 14 If any of the above did really **** up then Millwall would need just 8 wins from 16

Yep the season started Jan 1st 2010. You'll need to debate that with NickG as he is convinced the league starts after your 1st win.

Yep the side that played yesterday should/could win every game left that is true. Likely? Huddersfield already have 54 points so would only need 7 wins and 2 draws from the remaining 15 games to beat your suggested 13 wins from 17. Because of the -10 we could have made the PO with one 'small' poor period. Unfortunatly we have already had two fairly extended poor runs. Just my thoughts but think we have drawn to many games and are very unlikely to win 14 or 15 of the last 17 games.

1) I dont like to prejudice against any period of the season and most of my posts refer to the whole season not the 1st 10 games. The 1st ten games count so yes its fair to include them in a 'season so far summary' Are you obsessed with the first ten games? 2) Yes 2 points per game is decent enough. We DONT have an average of 2 points per game though we have an average of closer to 1.5 so your question is better asked on the Leeds or Norwich board? Could hear Norwich fans singing 'we are top of the league' while saints fans repsonded with 'Wembley' I know which club will be happier at the end of the season as while a wembley visit will be fun, the league was always priority and our 'distraction' may end up costing AP his job and us at least another year in L1.
