  1. I think this would be a very good idea if it was Europe-wide, but if it only applies to transfers within England (or the whole UK), won't that just damage the prospects of English-based players? If there's a later transfer deadline day for selling players to Europe, surely that would also have to allow English clubs to buy players from Europe after the domestic transfer window has "slammed shut" ©. This will just encourage English clubs to do more international transfers and less domestic transfers. Having said that, I think more English players playing abroad would help the England team (not that many Premier League Chairmen will care much about that).
  2. How about also adding Guy Askham, Jim Hone, Lee Todd and Uwe Rosler?
  3. The Gao family can't just take all the Sky and VVD income and walk off with it! That money will have already been budgeted for to pay for all the extended and improved player contacts/wages and buying Lemina etc.
  4. When Mike Ashley let Alan Pardew move to Palace, and received a considerable compensation payment from them, he described it as a transfer (and no doubt then threw up in a fireplace for a laugh!).
  5. They could play 15 minutes of audio adverts for Virgin Media at half time if they want a revenue stream. I'm sure audio streaming is pretty cheap to provide.
  6. Surely, there are no rules preventing radio coverage or audio streaming on the Saints website for a Saturday 3pm game??
  7. 16th January 2010, Jose made his Saints debut in League One (carrying a 10 point deduction) away to Millwall at the New Den. Attendance 11,524. What's he up to now?
  8. This is my first post since the Saints Forever days, but I feel inspired to reply (and I think Spain might just see this match out so I have some time). I'm sure the description of David Moyes is fair, but this shows exactly why most British managers would be unsuitable for our structure. We don't want a manager to run the club from top to bottom, we want someone to coach the players and make a final decision on potential transfers. Most British managers don't want to work in that structure unfortunately. David Moyes, for good or ill, would want to control scouting, transfers, the academy etc and would put Les out of a job. Of course there are enlightened British managers happy to work in our structure as Nigel Adkins did, but there aren't many of them about.
