It's so tricky to interpret what's going on. I go back to Guan's post a while ago where he said: Maybe that's what's happening? Maybe Ron doesn't want to sign up, and we don't want situation so we've allowed him to talk to Everton. A lot probably lies with the Everton Billionaire who is an unknown factor. We don't know if he's going to lay £100m down in cash to rebuild (without selling) and thus will offer him the rumoured £6m salary.

I don't disagree with that choice at all. (Or Tuchel, but he's not leaving Dortmund for us!)
